Feel the awesomeness of this thread. The right on-ess of it. The groove of it. The conversation on this very subject that took place last night in separate living rooms across the miles, so close yet so far in our flakiness...
First, duplicate Vick threads, and now, duplicate threads about how the Jets would lose the SuperBowl just like the Cards... Am I seeing double? I am not drinking.
Sorry if I missed the plethora of, 'What if the Jets were in this situation...?' threads. It's where I landed. Aye, God, that was NOT purposeful; but I'm still loving the PRE-suffering, non-existent angle. Always will...how can you not?!
I was telling my gf that exact same thing last night. She knows how intense I get during games, and I asked her what she would do if it were the Jets in that position and they lost the game that way. She said "run and hide." I might even revisit the suicide pact. No doubt the Jets would pull off a stunt like that, having thousands of Jets fans plunging, stabbing, or shooting themselves into freedom from this endless suffering. Either that or I would try to get myself hypnotized into thinking the Jets won the SuperBowl, Office Space 2.0.
Which would you rather have? Winning the AFC Championship but getting blown out in the Super Bowl like 54-7? or Losing the AFC Championship in a close nail-biter?
WTF??? Once you are in the playoffs, anything can happen. Look at the 2007 Giants and 2008 Cardinals. Both were on differing sides of the Super Bowl outcome but still made the playoffs and made great runs into the Super Bowl. I'll take my chances like that any day. Sure beats wondering about who the next coach might be, who will get fired, etc.
Trust me boys and girls .. You want no part in losing a bowl .. I still haven't recovered from superbowl 42, and that was a year ago ..
Bullshit you were serious. Go root for the Lions man. I am so sick of Jet fans wanting their team to lose. This is a perfect example of fans effecting the outcome of their teams games. If it wasn't for fans like you this team would be challenging Pittsburgh for Super Bowl championships.
