You would know, I don't. The one year we've had him he was coming out of semi-retirement and behind the 8-ball from day one. Plus, when you had him he probably was good enough to wing it and still pull it off. I think last year showed he can't do it that way anymore, so that's the one thing we don't want to happen. What scares us the most is that we seem to have an owner who is willing to let him do it that way and our GM or coach will be the ones to pay the price for it if that happens. It already happened to Mangini.
Some of these Packer/Favre fans on here are hilarious Listen, I've watched just about every game of his career, been a Pack fan my whole life. These other guys on here are hilarious. Let me set it for you straight. Brett Favre is the most overrated player in the history in the NFL. Maybe he was the Michael Jordan of football...back in 1997. Since then he's been living off a reputation built on 3 MVPs he won a decade ago with championship talent around him. Most seasons end with him choking big time in the playoffs. He had one good season in the last 5 in GB when the team was playing at a high level, which got everybody back into a huge Favre frenzy again. That ended with one of the most ridiculous mistakes in a championship game you will ever see a 15 year player make (game ending INT in overtime). The guy is a diva and a fraud. The whole reason why he wants to play for Minnesota is he simply isn't that good anymore and figures that team is stacked enough and just needs a quarterback and has some childish gripe with the Packers. He's a prima donna. A ten year old prima donna. Anybody who'd want to play for Minnesota after how Wisconsin stuck by his choking ass the last 10 years is a jag anyways - but at this point Favre is just someone to parody that its all just humerous now anyways. There you have it.
Jets fans have at least some reason to come here and bash the man right now. You, however, do not, you lost your excuse 6 months ago. A quick check of your short posting history reveals that the only reason you come here is to bash Favre (and occasionally make fun of the Jets while you're at it). You got your wish, the Packers dumped Favre. So why aren't you happy, why can't you move on? p.s. I also wish you would stop posting because you are making Wisconsin people look illiterate. pps lifetime Jets fans: to put this guy in perspective, what he's doing is the equivalent of going to a Rams fan site in the 70s, after Namath left the Jets, to ridicule Joe after he left the team. I think you all realize Favre is at least as much an icon for the packers as Namath is for you. Think about the pathetic idea of that, as you consider how much of a douche this guy is to come here and post this stuff now.
Killer 1 year in the last 5 2004 4,088 yards 30 TD'S 17 INT'S & 2007 4,157 yards 28 TD'S 15 INT'S 2008 comes to a team 2 weeks before the season starts his numbers are going to fall thats just logic.
Puddnhead & Determination why do you let these guys bother you if he wants to come back he will. The owner, gm & coach have all made it clear they want him back.
I never bashed the Jets once. I do post on here only to bash Favre. Who cares. He's a fraud. Maybe you missed the part about how his teammates don't like him (even the trainer ripped him), maybe you missed the part where this graceful player ran off the field without talking to anybody...that should tell logical people something. My short posting history tells you that I've only posted on here a couple times, not how often I 'come here'. I've been laughing up all the BS the Favre lovers post about what a great guy, teammate, and player Favre is, and how wrong Jets fans are about him, and feel its my duty to set the record straight. So what.
Tom 2004 Favre had a 55 passer rating and 4 interceptions to 1 touchdown in a wildcard loss to Minnesota AT HOME. 2007 was the good season I was referring to (except he inexcusably lost the NFC championship game - but who's counting, right?)
Maybe thats why Green Bay didn't want him 2 weeks before the season...maybe at 40 years old he should prepare during the offseason. Thats just logic.
Favre is done but his team mates sucked donkey balls down the stretch just like he did. Personally all this team mate love crap makes me want to squirm a little. I would hope that after 30 weeks of working your ass off with 53 other guys plus coaches and practice squad players, smelling each other?s breath, pits, ass, foot fungus, joke straps. Listening to the loud punk ass music you like and the crap that drives you crazy, hearing about assorted girls, wives, money, etc., etc., etc. being physically and mentally pushed to the brink of exhaustion by ex jocks with tits bigger than most of the strippers they regularly have sex with, I would hope that some team mates have more than a casual hate for each other and might even be on the brink of manslaughter. Give me a guy who can play the game lead by example and do his thing. Team mates are like hot women, they?re great when things are going good and you?re winning.
You do realize everyone can seem your posting history by clicking on your username link, right? If you're gonna lie, at least pick something you can get away with. Let me just throw the first few of your rips on the Jets out here: http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?p=1084380#post1084380 http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?p=1083631#post1083631
Too bad his actual talent has never matched the hype. With all the money your husband makes, Ms. Favre, you might consider enrolling in some remedial college courses and work on the whole critical thinking thing.
Sorry about Killer guys. 99% of Green Bay fans are great football fans and pretty knowledgeable.(sp?) On a side note: McCarthy is a fantastic head coach. Green Bay had TONS of injuries last year and the defense collapsing in the final drive of (no joke) 6 or 7 losses cost the team the season. If Green Bay stays healthy I can see my hometown team going deep in the playoffs.
The Jets "D" gave up all of 30 points in the last two games. The main reason the Jets lost the last two games (and missed the playoffs) was because the offense could not execute, and Favre was a huge reason for that.
I realize the Miami game didn't matter by the time we played it, but I can't get the two first half INTs out of my head. One was 1st and 10 from the 50 after the D made a stop, Miami ended up scoring, the other was the pick-6 before the half, after Chad threw the TD. Just killers. The Seattle game I've mostly blocked out for my mental well-being, but the one across the field, across his body, into the wind was a drive killer in Seattle territory. There are INTs that don't matter, like end of halfs or 4th and longs, and ones that kill you like those I mentioned above. They look the same on the stat sheet but they aren't the same.
I don't think I have ever seen it pointed out once on this site how much better the receivers were and always were in GB then what we have here. I also see a lot of talk about Favre's 9 picks and 2 tds over the last 5 games but no mention of how many of those picks were tipped by the receivers instead of being caught...just saying.
