Damn. Feb. 2nd, I'm far from on top of my game in terms of studying the draft. Once the combine occurs, and I gather more info, I'll know much more.

NFLDC only had Loatgart from OU ahead of Meredith, and JM looked more versatile and athletic. Another site had him as a 2nd rounder. Most sites didn't have an extensive scouting report though.

Slaton was a great FF pick last year because Houston didn't really have anyone else behind him. He got all of the team's rushing yards in 2008. But I can't see that being replicated next season. They've got to spread the load around or Slaton will get used up fast. Good choice with Greene.

So mad Delmas got taken the pick ahead of me. Thought he would've been a perfect fit for the Bears defense. But Darius Butler is rising up the draft boards and defensive back help is defensive back help.

I gave Delmas and Clay Matthews serious consideration for the Raiders last pick.

I was considering Delmas for my Houston's 2nd rd pick. It was close, but RB won over and I'm thrilled with Greene.
FWIW, IMO, Delmas could fall into late rd 1 and should be selected before Moore. Delmas had a great Senior Bowl week and I expect a good combine. Heard an interview of Delmas and he seemed like he had his head straight.

Delmas is also a very hard hitter.

Loadholt* has weight issues, but if he keeps in under control, he'll be a starter in the NFL. There's about three to five tackles available right now that look like better prospects than Meredith - but you're right it's only February 2nd.

I'm far from a draft guru compared to some of you at this point. I will catch up though, don't you worry.

It's not as questionable as you think. G-men REALLY missed Kavicka Mitchell last year IMO. IF Laurenitis can move to the outside in a 4-3 which is a bit of an if next year they would still have an upgraded linebacker core of Baby Animal, Peirce and Kiwanuka

I like Johnson in the fact that he can be a Safety or a Corner. So him and Lowery could interchange. Johnson is a true leader and a ball hawk who makes plays. I would have preferred Delmas but I feel Johnson is a good pick also. I wanted to upgrade the secondary badly, and this does.

    GREAT PICK

Seriously MC, I think you're having a great draft for the Jets, as a Jet fan I would be thrilled with your draft

PS. My last pick right before yours was between Johnson and Gilbert and I probably would have taken Johnson if I didn't have such a man crush on Gilbert, and still it was a tough call I struggled with, but I'm glad you snatched Johnson for the Jets, now I don't feel as conflicted

Oh Yeah, and I like Johnson better at Safety, I'd like to throw him back there with Rhodes

Thanks! The only reason I may have preferred Delmas is because I hear he can really lay the wood. Ive never seen him play though. Johnson I have watched take over games.

Raiders are going to give Mario Henderson every chance to compete for the LT job next year. HE shutout R Seymour, Mario Williams and Gaines Adams to end the season. JMO The tackle who might make the switch to right guard is Kwame harris .( Gives Raiders another 6'7 325 athlethic guard - very good run blocker. Playing inside should be equally effectived pass blocking and run blocking)) K harris basically signed a one year deal(Probably will be cut and than resigned )

Raiders have enough of guard types Paul Mcquistan(dominating run blocker) and Chris Morris 6'4 305( smaller Olineman that fits this blocking scheme very well) Morris did very well when he has filled in at guard. Intresting to see what they can do with OT James Marten (picked him up from waivers from Cowboys and see if he can fit in this system.

I signed on only a little while ago after working overtime. It is my turn after the Colts pick. I will try to make it in a timely manner.

With the abundance of players available at tackle and guard, do you see any of these players taking the starting center spot away from Grove?

Cant believe I got Fili Moala with my 2nd 2nd round pick.....I had him 1st on the guy I wanted and thought for sure he'd be gone. Jason Fergerson is getting old and Miami runs a 3-4 so a NT(hes around 300 and I think he can get a bit more if needed) will be needed for sure and I think Moala will be a heck of a stopgap inside for Miami.

Love this draft for Miami thus far, still have 1 more pick to go.
