"WHY THE HELL DOES FAVRE DESERVE SO MUCH TIME??"

Maybe because he is a redneck Southerner - yaaaaaalllllllll know, they do things quite a bit slower down there.

The "fans" haven't turned on him at all. A few people on this board have. Take a legitimate poll and I would bet the majority would still want him back. I bet the Jets have taken a poll like that and that is what they have found out.

There's been a poll running on Newsday on line for weeks and almost 60% of people voting do not want him back and another 20% who want him back think the Jets should draft a QB for the future. Only 20% said bring him back because he can still play.

ill give him till the end of the combine, cuz the report that i heard that makes the most sense is that Tanny said he wants to know by then so they can set their draft board.

if it drags out past the combine and we dont know before the draft, yes i will start getting sick of it.

i want him back but if he doesnt wanna be here, fine whatever i watch jets football regardless. cuz thats my team. i got no problem letting clemens get a real chance behind an actual OL, improved defense, and a reliable running game. or whatever option presents itself

as much as I have bashed Favre and the FO even more, this is the right thing to do. That is, if he really is injured

They need to know if he will be healthy enough to contributre.

Now if the injury was BS then it is strictly a move to protect their ass by not forcing the issue.

I hope Farve doesn't come back and we DON'T draft a QB. This may show that Tanny has confidence in Ratty, Clemens and Ainge. My vote is to have an open QB competition and may the best man win. The jets need to develop one of their QBs instead of another retread like Favre or Garcia or instead a draft pick who will not know Schotty's offense for a year or two. As to cap room, assuming Favre does retire maybe the cap room saving will be enough to move or cut Coles--I really think Cotch, Stuckey, Clowney and a high draft pick so be our WRs next year and Coles the cancer and Brad (he's not a WR, people) Smith should take a hike.

I wouldn't mind Favre coming back, but not like this. We don't owe him ANYTHING. I don't understand why we're giving him so much time to decide. If he's doing this just to get out of mini-camp then he really is being a pussy.

Yeah and idiots such as yourself are the reason southern and Western US calls us dumb yanks.

We do not need an answer from Favre until Febuary. He is doing exactly what our FO is asking him to do. All this hate for Favre is ridiculous considering he is only doing what is asked of him.

All this tells me is that they really do want him back. If not, i think they would be pressuring him at this point to make a decision. The more time ticks away, the more we get screwed. Maybe he can announce his retirement after the FA signing period ends.

I HATE HIM MORE AND MORE EACH DAY

The bigger question to me is, why are you so surprised? When we signed Brett Favre, we signed all his baggage along with him. Including his media whoring, waffle-house ways. It is what it is.

If that's true then it makes no sense at all why they would want him back as that would seem to defeat their desire to see more PSLs.

Speaking of Newsday, I went looking for that poll and found this first..hehe..Peter King is being Peter Fuckin King again and this is exactly what Tannenbaum has stated publicly before.

    http://www.newsday.com/sports/football/jets/ny-spfarve026021734feb02,0,7183726.story

"Sports Illustrated's Peter King, speaking on NBC's pregame show early yesterday afternoon, reported that Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum had his first offseason conversation with Brett Favre this past week. Tannenbaum's message, according to King, was that the quarterback needn't "rush" his decision and that he can take "months" if necessary.

A Jets spokesman refuted the report, saying the team hopes to have an indication from Favre by the time the NFL combine begins Feb. 18. That would be consistent with what general manager Mike Tannenbaum said Jan. 21, when coach Rex Ryan was introduced. Speaking on WFAN that afternoon, Tannenbaum said he wanted some "initial feedback" from Favre by the time the combine starts in Indianapolis. It lasts until Feb. 24."

Favre should've been shown the door the same day as Mangini...the Jets downward spiral had two authors.

This is a Micky Mouse organization because you've got a spoiled little rich brat who doesn't no shit about football running the team.

Look at the Rooney's last night....any wonder they've been to 7 Super Bowls. We're going nowhere with this ownership.

    Assinine organization.
