This way he can sit out any off season conditioning.

    Yeah...ditto there.

I just have a bad feeling about this. I can see Favre holding the FO hostage and then retiring in July...which could be catastrophic for the Jets "draft strategy" in April.

Available QB's in no particular order

    in the Draft:
    Colt McCoy (Texas)
    Sam Bradford (Oklahoma)
    Tim Tebow (Florida)

    UFA
    Jake Delhomme (Panthers)
    Josh McCown (Panthers)
    Kyle Orton (Bears)
    Brad Johnson (Cowboys)
    Jon Kitna (Lions)
    Sage Rosenfels (Texans)
    Brodie Croyle (Chiefs)
    Damon Huard (Chiefs)
    Tarvaris Jackson (Vikes)
    Mark Brunell (Saints)
    Eli Manning (Giants)
    Kellen Clemens (Jets)
    Andrew Walter (Raiders)
    Charlie Whitehurst (Chargers)
    Jason Campbell (Skins)

here's the link...i got this from KFFL. Not sure how accurate it is...because they have Ben-Ro listed as an UFA in 2010...but i thought he signed a long term deal last season. I bolded the more prominent FA's. I'm not sure how i feel about Delhomme, but he's better than most of the others listed.

I couldn't agree more. I have made it clear I would prefer that Brett retire/leave, whatever. But regardless if he is leaving or he decides to stay for another year, we need to know this month. This is just absurd.....

This isn't what I'm reading. This sounds more realistic to me........

Don't insult franchise QBs by putting Tim Tebow's name in there.

i always thought he had until the end of February, which is when the combine starts. That makes sense to me.

If he decides before the end of February, that's alright, but any later is just obnoxious.

When has Peter King been right about anything, specifically in regards to the Jets? What this report tells me is we will have an anwser one way or the other within two weeks. Yay!

Favre is starting his "prima donna" drama again....and nobody appreciates it....the fans are justified IMO.

Tannenbaum has already said publicly that they need his answer by the time the Combine begins. That is what you can believe and that is all that matters. The Jets certainly can't do shit before then anyway.

    This begs the question,

Who the fuck is running the nut house that is the NY JETS, months for what, one more fucking year at best.

Is Tanny just following orders like Hilter's little Nazi's and doing the owners bidding? Does Woody really believe that bring Brett back will sell PSL after last year performance? An if so did he think it was Mangini throwing all the interceptions and that was the reason to fire him?

If this story is true, then do we have another asshole who buys a football team and thinks he knows better then the people who have been making there living in the business of football for the last 20 years ? Should I call up tomorrow over at Johnson& Johnson and start telling him how to make band-aids.....

    Unfucking believeable!!!!!!

Save your rant for when their is actual proof behind these baseless rumors. Peter King makes his living riling up Jets fans & he does a damn good job at it.

Miamipuck reports.......... Despite all the roughage in his diet, Peter King is still taking solid shits. Of course this is anonymous, as my source is not in a position to give official news. Suffice to say, it is a person in the know, that has been very credible in the past.

Ah, with all due respect, re: my rant,,,

Did you see the pressers when Mangini was canned or when Ryan was hire an the ever wonderful Woodrow Johnson the third or what ever fucking number he is , say..." Oh, we want Brett back and will give him all the time he needs to make a decision" .

So when you hear bullshit like this it just re-enforces the stupity of the NY Jets the owner and unpper management!!

We dont need an answer by the combine the Jets need to do there homework on all players just like every other team does. We need an answer by Feb. 27th the start of free agency so we know how much money we can spend as long as we get an answer by the there is no problem.

"Do you want to play or do you NOT want to play for the New York Jets this season?".

How fucking hard is it to answer this question? and why on god's green earth would it take somebody more than 3 weeks or so to answer it.

C'mon Brett...SHIT or get off the pot.
