today? There are alot of rumors out there that John Madden is retiring from Broadcasting (after the superbowl today) and will be returning to the Raiders, to work in there front office. Could be the reason the Raiders haven't announce TOm cable as there coach yet. Will anounce both shortly. Stay tuned.

    is this fake news?

if its true, you'll have Brett Favre as your QB until he's 60.

    I've heard this too, actually.

But I've also heard Madden say, "When Al Micheals retires, so will I."

Again HOw many times have I said its been a rampant rumor for months on Raider boards that this possible will happen. See what happens. Again the Raiders are a secretive organization and its not supprising ESPN or the other Media outlets wouldn't have a clue.

MILLEN’S PRESENCE WILL FUEL MADDEN RUMORS
Posted by Mike Florio on January 3, 2009, 4:45 p.m.

We continue to be intrigued by the sudden appearance, after more than four months of exile, of former Lions CEO Matt Millen on NBC’s playoff edition of Football Night In America.

After watching his interview with Dan Patrick and then seeing him sitting at the grown-ups’ table with Bob Costas and the rest of the gang, here’s our working theory.

In our estimation, John Madden will retire from broadcasting after the season, Cris Collinsworth will take Madden’s place on NBC’s Sunday Night Football, and Millen will replace Collinsworth on FNIA.

We’ve already been hearing rumors from media sources in the Bay Area of a Madden retirement from television, followed by possible return to the Raiders in a front-office role.

We recently investigated those rumors, but couldn’t make the onion bloom.

What we did learn, however, is that Madden and NBC Sports guru **** Ebersol agreed upon the execution of Madden’s six-year contract with the network that both sides would assess the situation after three years.

Upon completion of NBC’s coverage of Super Bowl XLIII, Madden will conclude his third year with the network.

Millen’s presence seemed too abrupt and nonchalant to have no deeper meaning. So, yeah, we’re convinced that something’s going on. And it very well could be that, in four weeks, we’ll be seeing the last of John Madden on network television.

JUst reporting what Im hearing from various Raider sourcesa in the bay area. Again could be thye reason Raiders haven't named tOm Cable the head coach yet.

Again Florio just reporting what been the talk in the bay area for months. He alluded to such- We’ve already been hearing rumors from media sources in the Bay Area of a Madden retirement from television, followed by possible return to the Raiders in a front-office role.
We will know after today if those rumors have legs. It is funny that the Raiders haven't denied them yet.

Raiders attack schefter for reporting that Art Shell was going to be fired.... then they fired Art Shell.

The Raiders won't say anything. No team does.

    HAH! PUHLEEEEEEEEEAAAAASE make this happen!!

Could there be anything more awesomer than John Madden moving from the broadcas booth the the Raiders front office?! As if we didn't have enough Big Comedy coming out of that hell hole of a franchise. If this happens, it can only be a matter of time befor Beelzebub himself prances out onto the field at halftime, drops trow, and waggles his demonic junk on Monday Night Football.

Boom! Right there - four wins!!
