I totally agree with this post and mentioned it before, our last 3 coaches were all unproven guys, even at their lower coaching postions. Rex has a great resume and attitude about the game, so he certainly has qualities that make me optimistic about him. Will he be a great coach? It's impossible to tell right now. Does he have qualities about him that make me believe he can be a head coach? Most definitely!

I always liked Buddy Ryan as a coach but hated the fact he was with the Eagles for most of his HC career. He always played the Giants tough.

If Rex has half the fire his dad had we will be a good defensive team. Just keep the punched aimed at coaches on the other team.

Anonymous sources have reported that Herman Edwards was spotted wearing a fake beard and an orange wig entering the office of a manboob enhancement specialist.

If being the son of a famous coach is most attribute to making him a great coach, then they are in trouble.

Look..as I've posted several times, I'm taking a wait and see attitude about Ryan. I refuse to get excited about a coach who has no track record as a NFL head coach. Because Ryan got fire and enthusiam, it doesn't guarantee he'll be great, much less good head coach. This team is FAR from being a championship contender. Hopefullly the front office can get some fast and physical players who Rex and his minions can coach up.

I would be more then happy to give him that title if he does like I do. I'm a darksider because I am looking at everything not just saying he going to be a great coach. All I am saying is he a unproven HC abd he could come in here and be the worst HC in Jets history or he could be the best. A lot of you guys are pumped because of his speech there a lot more to it then that.

I agree but you have to look at both sides which I mean he could be great or he could suck as a HC. Don't get me wrong I think he going to be a very good one but I'm not ready to put him in the HOF like some talk like he will be.

I agree with the blitzing and that why I like also. I hated to see a 3 man rush. Also like I said great players will make u look great also. Not saying he not a great D coach but because ur a great D coach doesn't always make u a great HC,

I don't think it's so much that people think that he's already a great coach. Everyone is just very optimistic because of his attitude right off the start. He is a personality the jets have not had at HC in a very long time and people are just excited that he is starting off with a bang.

Rex has more coaching experience now than Groh, Edwards and Mangini had combined when we hired them.

Actually just Jetsfan, but by looking at the join dates you could say I was first.

Not counting back in Oct 2002 there was a problem with the site and my join date got reset or you would see it a couple years earlier.

being #1 jets Fan has nothing to do with coming on here. I say that I am for the stuff I do to see Jets fan. I am a season ticket holder and I live in VA and I make it to almost every home game.

Dominance comes from having some players who dominate at their position. We have none of that, and from listening to the folks in here, they don't want players who can dominate. All because the players don't fit in their mold of what they want to see in their champions.

There were people on this board who said they did not want Braylon Edwards. Braylon has had a better season than any WR on this team will ever have. Coles and Cotchery will never put up numbers like an Edwards, but they still don't wan't him. Dominant philosophy is one thing, but even Bill Belichick and Parcells know that you don't win in this league without having some dominant players.

When we decide to get some dominant players then and only then will Rex Ryan see the fruits of his labor.

I remember being a diehard Jets fan back at 7-8 years old which puts my suffering at 35 years and counting.

Rex made a big mistake for saying he will make Jets win SuperBowl in 4 years, because if he does not accomplish that then he will look like IDIOT!
