Falcons fans were ready to burn down the building when they selected Ryan last year. Fans of bad teams are deathly afraid of taking QB with a high choice, you see it every year including on this very board.
I agree that KC will likely go with a DE to replace Allen. The Chiefs had the most anemic pass rush in the NFL last year so they have to do something about that. But what is the thought of Orakpo over any other DE ? What makes Orakpo the better choice ?
Matty Ice had an offensive line, an awesome running game, and two first round receivers in Atlanta. It's a different story in Detroit.
I read up on Detroit before this mock - Schwartz is giving complete control of the defense to Cunningham. I honestly have no clue what kind of defense he's going to run though.
Popeye, can you please delete the names of undrafted players from your post Its a mock draft rule, we don't mention the names of undrafted players in these draft threads Thanks
At the time ATlanta was in disarray, noone knew what kind of impact Michael Turner would have. Also at the time they had two underachieving WRs in Jenkins & White who emerged with Matt Ryan. Detroit has two young playmakers in Smith and Johnson and can address OL with later picks.
Guys.............most Gms are great, no issues. I have a problem with a GM on-line, knows their pick is coming up in a few picks and leaves. If you have to go......PM your draftboard to me. You are holding up everyone.....Sorry Nesquik, I had to make an example, You were here most of the morning and leave 20 minutes before you're OTC..................... Does this makes sense?????? UNACCEPTABLE>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Period. Carry On!!!
Atlanta fans said the same with Matt Ryan and that they did not want a QB so early but they've changed their tune after year 1. I really think at the end of the day the Fords make the pick and take ________ not just for money reasons but after what happened in both Atlanta and Baltimore with new rookies/coaches that DET will think the same way and try and replicate the idea. I think Curry is a better fit for DET but I just think _________ becomes a Lion at the end of the day just because the common Lion and NFL fan expects/wants it and based on what happened last year that the rookie head coach phenomenon(Spags, Ryan, McDaniels, Morris etc.) is growing on teams just as much as investing more so on QB's(Before last year teams were more so hesitant which is why Rodgers and Quinn fell....But with Ryan and Flacco I expect teams to not be gunshy on QB choices) and i'd be shocked if ________ wasnt No.1 come April.
I am a big time believer of not passing on a potential franchise QB when you don't have one. I have been saying it for years in regard to the Jets and here we are still looking for one after having a number of opportunities to get one over the years. Speaking of the Jets, if the draft does play out like this(very unlikely) I really hope they are burning the phone lines calling each team remaining in the top 10 to get their QB. With that said I do think Curry is the best defensive player in the draft and would make alot more sense if they do indeed play the 3-4.
