Lol. Just as long as it's a photo of you, Herm, and Chad running through the water along the beach.

this will be the funniest thing on television because the "you play to win the game" quote will be said 1000 times and the look on his face will be hysterical each time its said by the other analysts.

Unless he gets them to stop saying it.

Wait... Herm made his name by pandering to the press... and now he's going to be part of the press...

How is this going to work?

If ESPN lets Herm be Herm he should inject some fresh air into a usually staid group of BS artists

That's true. None of those guys can weave a web of bullshit like Herm can. You could confront Herm about banging your wife and he'd have you walking away smiling and thinking about circus clowns and dog shows.

We should be able to get another 4th rounder out of this.

Actually, getting Leon for Herm was probably one of the best things that ever happened to the Jets.

Herm will be good on TV, I can see him staying there for a while, too.

On a related topic, I met Mike Ditka briefly the other night, talk Jets for a few. Seemed like a nice guy, exactly like he is on TV, passionate about football.

I don't know what to think of Ditka. I don't doubt he has a brilliant football mind, but sometimes he seems senile when he's analyzing. Maybe that can be attributed to a lack of broadcasting skills, but there are times when I'm just like, "w...t....f..."

He's a Hall of Fame player and a Super Bowl winning coach, pretty solid resume. Seemed on top of things, I casually mentioned I'm a Jet fan and he started going into his thoughts on how our defense will be with Ryan. I asked him if he knew Rex when he was there as a kid and he said he doesn't know him at all.

I agree. But something tells me Herm is no Matt Millen.

For once we are in total agreement. Few things are as entertaining that Edwards rambling. It's comedy gold.

wow, 56-77. I knew he was bad, but how could even Junc defend such a career record.

He was good for us, his only bad seasons came when we lost our QBs and had some injuries issues. He made the postseason 3 times in 5 years- the ONLY Jets HC to do so. He won a division title while NE had a healthy Tom Brady, we never missed the postseason 2 years in a row while he was here and the last time we did so was pre-Herm and the next time post-Herm. I guess you guys enjoyed missing the playoffs again this year, I would rather have been there.

He was 27-25 his first four-plus years, before Chad and Fiedler got hurt in the same game in 2005 and then he went to KC. The QBs were bad luck, going to KC was his own fault.

Results wise, he was alright. But his clock management was terrible, and that's not an area you can tolerate your Head Coach struggling with. The years we made the playoffs, we made it in at 10-6, 9-7, and 10-6. That last year, we would have missed it after starting 5-0 if not for the Bills losing to the Steelers backups. In an age of parity, not finishing with more than 10 wins and getting past the 2nd round isn't much to be excited about. There are worse than Herm, but there are a lot better too. I also want to mention that we had a pretty talented team, a team that should have won the amount of games that it won those years he won 9-10 games. He coached them to expectations, never exceeding them, and frustrated the fan base way to much with his clock management gaffes.
