Hi Vernon, I guess it can't have escaped you that alot of things being said and written, are now incorporating the words Gholston and bust in the same sentance. This my friend is not too good , especially as even new coaches coming in are intimating the same thoughts. We as Jets fans are getting pretty used to it , but it doesn't mean to say we will tolerate it. You seem to have all the tools to be a good OLB/ DE , but don't use them all the time , so I just wanted to give you a reminder of what your meant to do. http://uk.truveo.com/Memory-Lane-DE-Mark-Gastineau/id/3882917382
Sad to say that even way back then with old school training and conditioning (orlack of), Mark was still BIGGER and FASTER than Vernon is.
mike tyson. Ryan and Pettine better make this kid at least a situational pass rusher this upcoming season.
Do you really think he gives a shit about what u write to him? He's made a fortune for the couple of tackles he's made, and he'll make a lot more of it for his next handful of tackles.
The upside is, Iron Mike has an immediate job lined up if they ever make a movie based on What's Happening.
He has no more incentive to do so. He made millions to help the Jets about as much as I did last year yelling from the sidelines. BUST!
being a bust isn't something that can be re-evaluated on a year to year basis, it is an evaluation of a body of work. so, if you are saying he is a bust now, you have to stand by that the rest of his career. are you saying you'll still call him a bust if he has 8-10 sacks next year? you'll have to, but I don't think many people would agree with you, which is why a player inherently can't be declared a bust after 1 year. he may end up being a bust, but that has yet to be determined. right now he is just a bad player, but there is a difference between the two.
As of the this writing, yes, he's been a bust. However, I'm not going to file him in the ever expanding file of Jets' first round pick busts...yet. I'd give him 1-2 more seasons. He did make the transition to LB last season and was hampered by foolish rules that prevented him from attending off season practices. Here's hoping a new coaching staff can get this guy going. If not, I'll file him right behind Kyle Brady.
Okay, yes, we get it; he did nothing this past year. Now can we please put a pause on these threads until we see what becomes of him under the new regime?
Make take on Gholston: Football is the only business I can think of where you can get $20M guaranteed, and do virtually nothing, and not go to jail.
professional athletes truly care about and are affected by personal messages addressed to them on the internet.
Er no. Just because its the off season , again. Hes still a Jets football player and has done jack , and will continue to rightly get flack until he does do something worthwhile. I get paid to work , if I don't work I don't get paid.
