I liked Jimmy Raye, he worked with Curtis Martin and has done well with TJ and Leon... but if Lynn is this sought out, then I'll trust he is a good hire. Tuna wanted him too, so you know he a football guy. But I liked the ancient Jimmy Raye. He argued with Herm, it was brilliant.
I am kinda intrigued with a couple of new asst. coaches coming in on the offense side of the ball. Maybe Schotty is getting some guys he wants in here. I can't see Lynn and Ellard being guys that Rex would be after. Just an opinion.
The Brown's running game wasn't the most feared attack in the league. If Tuna likes him, give him a chance.
Lynn worked with Parcells in Dallas. The Jets also run the same offense as Cleveland. If Rob Chudzinski doesn't get a coordinators job, I'm hoping he lands with the Jets. He ans Schotty workrd together in SD
The Browns were 26th in rushing last year, although we have much better talent at RB than the Browns do.
I hate to do this, but I have a duty. Better Talent at RB?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Thats what constitutes a running game? Ummmm....we had the same backs two years ago, and could't run for sh!t we have a better OLine than cleveland.
Maybe thats what Rex meant by surrounding himself around the best kind of coaches. Lets see what happens
We really do have a strong O-Line with Ferguson as a Franchise LT (Say what you want, he's our Franchise LT and he's been playing solid), Mangold as our talented Center, Faneca has always been one of the best LG's in the league, Woody is a solid player to have at RT, a player who can play just about every position and Moore is really starting to come into his own as a starting RG. But still, it doesnt matter...Thomas Jones is alot better than Jamal Lewis as of right now and Leon Washington is one of the better #2 RB's in the game today. I feel safe with the Jets rushing attack.
Thats what I am wondering. Did he not like the 2 former asst's or were they chose for him by our former coach?
Someone made an amazing point before, noone and I mean noone wanted to come here and coach with mangini he had a really hard time assembling a staff. This time around it seems like its a lot easier.
and dont sleep on marcus mason or noah herron. im itching to find that third back that can switch the pace up, you have thomas jones getting the bulk, leon moving the opposing defenses sideline to sideline and footracing to the endzone. marcus mason has quick feet and can drive defenders back. i enjoy watching his tapes and seeing him lower the shoulder. he has a careless running style. dangerous, but effective.
How good would it be to have either a Grant or Ward as the Jets 3rd RB? You cant change the past, I just wish Magini and company would have seen the talent in the 1st place because these two backs are doing solid things with the Packers and Giants.
