Would be an incredible pick. He's the best QB in this draft, and a NFL quality arm. He'll be long gone by #17. In fact, I think the Lions would be smart to take him at #1.
I'm not completely opposed to this, i feel the jets should start thinking about the future. i'd rather draft Knowshon Moreno, and build on the great running game we had last year, then go after bradford, or mccoy next years draft. There is someone on the jets roster that could keep them above water for 1 more season, build around the qb position, then draft that knockout blow next year. Look what the titans did with Kerry "effen" collins
I feel the secondary is a pressing need. Most likely Favre will come back or they will go with Clemens, who has seen regular season action, as a stop gap. I'd like M. Jenkins at 17 if they opt to keep the pick.
god i hope not i'd really like to go defense either ilb de dt with the first pick......but that can change after f.a.
Nah, you don't waste a first found pick on a back up Nose Tackle and what from I hear about Ryan is that he will try to take one of his LBs from Baltimore.
I want Gholston. He is from Ohio State. I bet he will transfer to the NFL with ease. He will drop to 17. No way a team would be dumb enough to draft him earlier than that.
^you think scott is a lock to come here?i'd be cool with that.i want to see tanny fill holes in f.a. like last year(although with less money)before the q.b. talks starts up
For those of you calling for Defense in the first round: It's very likely that we address both the CB and Safety positions in FA, possibly even LB. We'll probably sign Jim Leohnard, either Jabari Greer or Bryant McFadden, and possibly Bart Scott. If we don't get a CB, it makes more sense to get our Franchise QB in Round 1 and take a Mike Mickens/Macho Harris in round 2. The first 2 rounds are so deep and the dropoff between Vontae Davis and Mickens/Macho isn't anything crazy. If we can get Malcolm Jenkins, that's a different story.
I would take Sanchez maybe in the second round but only if we were forced to. Like they said in that tidbit above, when your coach says you don't deserve to be in the NFL it goes a long way.
I think Carroll was just bitter and I would be very very very happy with Sanchez at 17; however I do not think he will be there...
I think if we really want a QB this year our best bet is to trade down, pick up some extra picks, and draft Josh Freeman in the 2nd round. Freeman as a prospect is a lot like Flacco who was on Rex Ryan's Ravens this past season - big guy, big arm, accuracy isn't the best, has struggled at times. He can take a year and then be ready to go. He has a very high ceiling.
what I notice was that in the late first round they have an LSU DE who was never on the LSU roster lol...it doesn't say that any more but when it first came out
I'm almost glad we have so many holes/needed upgrades, because we can take BPA at, like, 7 different positions. And we all know (at least, most of us), that BPA is the best way to draft.
