I am saying he was a dick because he was aloof. D'Brick was very classy and guarded and didn't say anything like that. But his guarded speak also brought the impression upon my buddy that he was displeased with Favre.
Let's face the music guy's, Brett did not want to be a Jet, he wanted to stay in the NFC and I think with the Vikes.
Good reporting. Even if Favre didn't, or doesn't, want to be a Jet, the coaching staff clearly did not give him the credit a veteran deserved. Mangini didn't let Favre be Favre, and that was it.
WHAT ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH are you talking about? Favre seemed about as Favre as possible. What credit are you talking about?
My opinion isn't going to be very popular, but I think Favre should've been allowed to call his own plays at least for one game to see how it works. Mangini had too much to prove at his young age and didn't like his starting qb being older than him, therefore, to me, it seemed like the whole season was a HC/OC/QB power struggle in regards to the offense. That's the talk down in the sticks, at least, where all the Packers fans became Jets fans for the local hero.
What's wrong with "keeping to yourself"? That doesn't mean he was a bad guy or a douche. This isn't high school sports. I don't care if they don't go bowling during the week, so long as they mesh well on the field.
Favre is almost 40 years old. He is not a kid, and probably does not want to "hang out" with kids almost half his age. He probably wants to go home and relax with his family, much like us 'mature' folks do. That makes him seem aloof to the kids on the team.
Oh, yeah. Such good "reporting." Maybe we should award him a Pulitzer Prize! Man, most people on this board wouldn't know good journalism from a trash can. (Which is, unfortunately, where a lot of our reporting has ended up.)
Anyways back on topic, and away from Favre's potential non compliance, Am i the only one who thinks this would be an interesting scenario? I mean this is a chance to hang out with a professional athlete! Not to mention a down to earth one, as opposed to a tricked out maniac like Pac-man. Brick sounds like a cool guy to sit down and talk with. Hope your friend gets lots of exciting information. out of curiosity what class is it? Anybody know what D'brick majored in at Virginia?
Because he's defending story that was more then likely made up by himself. Looking at the way he reacted to you response to his "friends chat with brick". Either it never happend and he just wanted a reaction or if it did he tweaked the facts. Ill go with the former.
And I know I have some typos, sorry on my black berry. And I don't care if favre wasn't going out and playing hop scotch with the kids, he's 40.
Have your friend bring lots of food with lots of carbs to class for Mr Brick. And tell him to send Brick to the gym. Seriously, what is Brick doing in an MBA program? Is he going to go work for some company who's CEO makes less than he does? You don't need a piece of paper to run a company, start a business or learn to invest wisely. If he wants to incresae his net return, he should put his ass in a gym and OL school full time, make himself a top 3 LT and see the value of his next contract. After that he can focus his time on school. This indicates a guy not fully focused on football. He has plenty of money to complete an MBA, should he get injured and find himself out of the league.
