So basically just post here talk about your schools recruits anything...seeing is how there does not seem to be one at least till now. So go ahead I gotta say though my LSU tigers are gettin a "damn strong" class going Chris Davenport, Janzen Jackson (No 2 corner on Rivals), Craig Loston (No 1 safety on Rivals and ESPN) and of course my man Russell Sheppard (No 1 Dual Qb rivals, No 1 Ath ESPN). and hopefully we can land Rueben Randle looking forward to national signing day
Fresno's class is looking pretty weak so far - we'll be bringing in a lot of gray shirts from last year's class though. Our best recruit on offense is David Carr's little brother Derek Carr, who was recently named offensive player of the year in California. On defense, 4-star linebacker Travis Brown committed back in September... South Carolina is bringing in a solid class defensively, and will probably end up with a Top 25 class, because of DeVonte Holloman and Jarvis Giles.
Top 25 class in 2009 so far according to rivals http://www.rivals.com/teamrank.asp?SID=951 1. LSU 2. Ohio State 3. Texas 4. USC 5. Alabama 6. North Carolina 7. Georgia 8. Michigan 9. Miami 10. Oklahoma 11. Florida 12t. Florida State 12t. South Carolina 14. UCLA 15. Texas A&M 16. Michigan State 17. Tennessee 18. Arkansas 19. Notre Dame 20. West Virginia 21. Stanford 22. Penn State 23. Auburn 24. Illinois 25. Nebraska
Alabama's going to make a strong push for that top spot...if they get to #1, it will be their second straight #1 class. Nick Saban is building a beast.
Nationally, it's not a very good class, but for UCF our class is shaping up to be one of the best in school history. It was only 4-5 years ago that we were struggling to get 3* guys. Now we're finally grabbing a couple 4* guys. Currently our biggest recruit is 4* ATH Josh Robinson. And we're pushing hard for recently de-committed gator, Mike Gillisilee. Supposedly its down to us and Clemson.. but i wouldn't rule out him committing, again, to Florida.
Miami has another monster class coming in on top of last year's ridiculous group. Bryce Brown could make a class himself (fingers crossed), and there are two 4 star backs behind him that will be players themselves. They loaded up on LBs and WRs last year, and they added the bulk up front with 7 line recruits. Best part are the defensive backs that they got verbals from, Ray Ray Armstrong (LB/S) and Prince Kent (WR/CB/S) are going to be studs somewhere. Rutgers has a quality class as well, maybe the best so far for Schiano. They've had some good ones the past few years, but this class should be what gets the offense back after losing so much the past 2 seasons. I don't honestly think Tom Savage will turn out to be a good QB, just a gut feeling, but D'Antwan Williams is going to be a stud, and will be starting next year as a true freshman. Shawney Kersey is another guy to watch. Best part is that there are defensive players that, gasp, actually have major college football size!! I know, unbelievable. Antwan Lowery may be the first 300 lb DT in RU football history.
Ray Ray is fucking incredible. I've had the pleasure of seeing him play a few times. If he can qualify, and knowing Miami, he will qualify, you're gonna have an absolute beast. Miami landing 2/3s of the Seminole trio is quite outstanding for them. Randy is rebuilding the giant known as "DA U"
I can't believe Nutt hasn't brought me a top 25 recruit class. He's got a couple of 4 stars and a 5 or two..the one who impresses me most is this kid named Cotton at 4* QB, hoping he signs with us.
Also does any one know a site with like really good up to date recruiting information in particular for SEC schools because living in NYC college football is not that big and rivals and espn can only do so much also if Trent Richardson de committed from Bama to play for the Bayou Bengals I would like go nuts. Les is bringing in an insane recruiting class
Try the free Rivals message boards... Also, I like Scout.com much better than Rivals for recruiting. Scout actually lists pros and cons of most of the big name prospects. Scout has some pretty info on their free message boards as well. You can't expect to get much from either site without paying for the premium package, but usually the free posters find out an hour or two later, so it's not that big of a difference.
so any way with the final week before signing day things have gotten interesting. I think we are gonna see a lot of decomitts very shortly including potentially Trent Richardson who is a sick runner, he like steam rolls through people and of course the nations best wideout Ruben Randle is still undecided. Should be a very fun week even though most of the top prospects have decided on there schools That being said Im intrested to see where Devon Kennard is going (looks like USC), Jelani Jenkins, Manti Te'o and Dre Kirkpatrick all look to be as if they are going to take it to the wire
Rivals underrates and overrates a lot of players. I like Scout's rating system a lot better. Travis Brown was named first team all California as a middle linebacker over USC commit Vontaze Burfict. Brown is only listed as a three-star on Rivals, but Scout bumped him up to a four after the all-state team was announced.
Yeah that's my problem too. I'm so into recruiting this time of year that I switch back and forth between sites. Sometimes one site picks up news faster than the other.
Looks like Big Blue lost two DTs today One inked with Texas Tech and the other supposedly with Arkansas. UF may have lost WR Nukees Richardson to Tennessee. He's a quick fucker. Everyone from the Muck is.
