we have to go with a big time receiver as far as height thats what kills us every time in games in the redzone... Giants were a perfect example of that this year no plax equals no double team coverage so it man up...

May I remind everyone, Harvin isn't going to be used as a starting WR in the NFL...........I believe he's going to be a Hybrid and line-up at different positions.....ala Reggie Bush.

Don't draft Harvin expecting you're WR problems are fullfilled.

Couldn't agree more...I've been saying this for months.

Harvin is a special talent, but he's not a wide receiver or a running back - he's a mix between the two.

And he's not what we need.

Mark Sanchez, Clint Sintim, Vontae Davis, Malcolm Jenkins. Those are guys we need.

My guess is that we will not draft him at 17 even if he does well at the combine.

I still expect the Jets to look for an ILB, DE, and QB (If Favre is gone).

I would love to see the USC LB as a Jet. He seems like he could be a real nice player. Don't know how well he does in coverage though.

Peter Warrick is who he reminds me of, without even his terrible route running ability...

The last thing this team should be doing is taking a wr in the first round. After qb, wr is the riskiest position in the first round. Not to mention that Coles, Cotchery, Stuckey, Wright, Smith, Clowney and Henry are all under contract. I'd love to put coles on a bus and blow it up but he's going to be here next year complaining like the bitch he is. Hopefully Stuckey and Clowney can continue their development.

It really is a problem that two of our stand out special teams players are wr's. Your basically dressing 5 wr's every week and 2 of them don't do anything from scrimmage.

We have to wait and see what players Rex will bring over from Baltimore during FA. IMO, it's a lock we go defense in Rd 1.

Agreed. I think they will address the secondary in free agency and see if they can sign Bart Scott. I think the draft they will focus on dynamic linebackers and defensive lineman.

Even if PH lives up to the hype, what can he do for the team that 'Lectric Leon Washington can't?

I'd love to see the team add Bart Scott. He'd be a great help in getting everyone acclimated to Ryan's scheme.

As for the draft, here are the guys that I think we'll be picking from:

Brian Orakpo, Everette Brown, Tyson Jackson, BJ Raji, Rey Maualuga, James Laurinaitis, Brian Cushing

I think Rex will push hard for Scott and Leonhard. Obviously they need Favre to retire to have the money to make those two moves. Baltimore has a bunch of young safeties so I think they will let him go. In a regular defense I'm sure Leonhard is probably average at best but Rex knows he can play in his defense. As a bonus Leon Washington is a horrible punt returner and Leonhard is pretty good.

Do you think the Jets will consider Moreno? I'm usually against taking a rb in the first round but I think he's a unique talent and Ryan is going to want a run first offense. Thomas Jones is solid but you can do better for sure.

RB is the one position where rookies can come in and play well immediately. And they often do their best the first few years in the league. So I'm not really too concerned about getting one in this draft. TJ should have at least one more good year (and maybe two) so I'm happy to wait for a new starter. No use in having a young RB prime years be on the bench. Especially since I'd like to see Leon get more carries as well.

The Jets do need a #3 RB so I woulnd't mind picking up a late round pick or UDFA RB for that spot. But I don't think we need a high pick at this time.

He's not, running backs as good as him or better go in the first round every year.

You don't think he's a unique talent? I think he's the type of offensive player that could come in and change this offense. I still don't want a running back in the first round but he has to be considered.

I don't know who's going to be the better pro back - Moreno or LeSean McCoy from Pittsburgh. Both should be pretty good. And I wouldn't discount Chris Wells for bad weather teams like the Jets. I think his size would make him a great battering ram for those cold, snowy games in November and December.

reggie bush is a bust as a running back....but a great wr
harvin will be that playmaker who can line up anywhere...but mainly at wr
i thought he was just another guy on florida's team until the national championship...b/c they have 3 other fast rb's/wr's who couldn't get it done and harvin far and away was the best player in that game
i would like a traditional dominant wr...but take a great player when you can get one

Umm Reggie Bush a great WR? He is not even a GOOD WR. Reggie Bush is to running back as Percy Harvin is to WR......

aka, not very good on the pro level.

The problem is, Percy can't make up for it by transitioning to a RB, as he is injury prone, doesn't have the lower body or hips, and doesn't know how to run off tackle.

He is a track star playing in a scheme that takes advantage of less talented teams.
