The Giants just named him as their new LB coach. He was the Jets' LB coach for the last three years. I'm not really sure if this belongs in the NFL forum or not. But I figured I'd put it because this does have an impact on the Jets. http://www.giants.com/news/headlines/story.asp?story_id=34898
 Thats actually pretty funny. If you would have asked me who he was, I would not have known. He did a good job with Gholston though.
for every assistant that leaves there are dozens more, even better qualified candidates in the NFL, and in college that Ryan can tap to be more than sufficient replacements. The only coaches you cannot replace are Callahan and Westhoff. Callahan's zone blocking schemes are beautiful, hence the huge runs from Washington last season. However he needs to coach up Faneca and Woody, both had 7 sacks apiece, granted Favre would hold the ball for an eternity, but 7 sacks is too much, when the other 3. Brick, Mangold, and Moore gave up on average 2. And Westhoff is a special teams genius, the tricks I saw him coach, the Leon Washington stretch to touch the sideline to get a illegal procedure, he was at least 5 feet from the sideline and forced the penalty. Genius.
is it clear that he is not not with the organization any more or is it possible he is still here in some capacity
so far..the only big loss I've seen worth mentioning is Rick Lyle (went to Cle with Fatty McGee)...the assitant strength and conditioning coach. The injury list was in pretty good shape last season (other than losing Harris for some time). I think Lyle did a decent job...i would've liked to see the Jets retain him.
