He probably doesn't want to work for his brother. Would you? He would be stopped from getting ahead as long as his brother did well which means he would have to silently root against him.

Yes, let's hire Herm for DC! He's the man! Give the Chiefs three firsts to get him back! Come on Rex do it!

I dont know if I would want two brothers on the same staff. I'm happy with the Pettine choice. I trust Rex knows what he is doing. And also

    1. He comes from a great defensive team.

    2. He is the LB coach so now we have two guys that work very closely with Suggs and Scott. I really see Bart Scott in a Jets uniform next year. And maybe another lesser name player or two from the Ravens as well.

It will be Pettine, and 1) Idk if Rob wanted to work under his brother and 2) he wanted to get out of oakland as fast as possible.

At first I wondered that too. I didn't realize they were twins until recently. I thought Rob was younger which if the case would make more sense for them to be together.

I guess if Rob aspires to also be a head coach one day, he wouldn't want to get it at his brother's expense. Nor would he want his prospects tied to that of his brother in case things didn't work out for Rex.

Now that Rob's with the Browns, he can secretly wish for Mangini to fail, right? ; )

I have a twin sister and I can only make the analogy of Rex would keep his brother from forming his own identity.

I didn't go to same college as my sister because she is and has always been a major cock block to me. Maybe Rob essentially felt that Rex would "cock block" him from getting where he wants to be (Head Coach himself).

he'd rather Mangini do well that way people raid his staff, thus making Rob a HC candidate.

It has been mentioned many times that neither one of them wanted to work under the other, can't say I blame them.

I don't believe these 2 would ever want to work together unless it was toward the end of their careers. They both have to live under the eys of defensive minded people because of thier dad. These guys, as Rex said, want to be better than their dad. They can't do that working together. One would always get more recognition than the other.

What I'm saying is my sister commonly calls girls I hook up with whores/sluts which prevents me from reaching my ultimate goal.

What I'm saying is that Rex would keep Rob from getting those skanky head coaching vacancies.

side note: you guys do realize one can be cock blocked by a buddy, sister, or female friend right. Yes I have received the trifecta

Beside all that, I 'm very happy with Rex's hire
