Just asking...I think he is the best WR in the draft and could be the offensive weapon we so desperately need. What kind of picks would you give up to get him?
We don't have enough. He will be a top 5 pick. It would probably take out 1st and 2nd this year and our 1st next year.
I wouldn't give up anything for him. 2010 is the year to draft a receiver high. Mike Crabtree is a solid pro prospect, but he benefits from a weak, small receiving class and from playing on a pass-happy team. His route running is questionable and his hands aren't always the best.
Nothing. I'd rather sit back and get an ILB, DE, FS or quite possibly QB (depending on what SF does) if those positions aren't filled or decided upon by the end of FA. Chances are, Rex will draft lots of defensive players this year.
I wouldnt give up anything for him. I feel that if Ryan is on record saying were gonna stuff the run, we should be looking at some youth at the running back position. A three headed running attack would be awesome. Jones, Leon, and maybe Moreno in the draft. Fresh legs are so important when having the running attack as your primary weapon on offense. When Favre leaves we don't have a proven Qb to launch the ball all over the field, no need at going for WR in the first round.
I love Crabtree to death, but no way do the Jets have the luxury of trading up for him. Defense is the focus, but if a good WR stands out to them, it'll have to be at 17 or a bit further down in the first.
I agree and he will go later. Not sure where they project Maclin but should be close to the Jets pick.
if they project him at 19-26, take him anyway. There is just something about him. And he has a face that looks like a cross between Emmit Smth and Marshall Faulk.... so he's a HOF already right?
while i'd like Crabtree, I also wouldn't give up the world for a guy who plays in that system. That system prepares slot receivers, with quick short passing routes emphasized (see Wes Welker). He is also not THAT big, or exceedingly fast. He is a very solid prospect, but not worth what it would take to bump up.
I don't want the Jets to trade up, especially for a WR. With Rex Ryan on-board, it isn't going to happen. Defense in Rd 1 , IMO, is almost given. Unless, Rex wants his Future Franchise QB and Sanchez is available. As far as 2010 WR's....Electric you're right on the money. Here's some I like that will be available in 2010 or should declare........... Brandon Lafell Jacoby Ford Dez Bryant *** Arrelious Benn......My favorite for 2010!!! I like this kid, seen him in the Big Ten. Eric Decker..........another Big Ten kid, that shows promise. Aaron Boyce......very productive player Ray Small.........explosive, great KR. Needs some polish running routes at OSU, a poor man's Ted Ginn and came from the same High School Powerhouse (Cleveland Glenville).
You don't trade up that far for him. From the Last draft Crb thread thats not yet off the first page:
I personally think Arrelious Benn and Dez Bryant will be just as good in the NFL if not better than Michael Crabtree, I would be very very very very upset if we traded up for Crabtree considering how steep the price would be.
No more than 17, WRs are hard to peg. In hinsight the only WR worth trading up for in the last while would be Fitzgerald or Johnson, and Johnson doesn't have the outright ability to win games so again not worth the trade up IMO. trade up guys are QBs, potential defensive captains, or O-linemen
