Clemens was 8 -22 or something to that effect in a green and white game in August, coupled with his pedestrian stats from the preseason game and he clearly did not beat out Chad up until that point.

Funny but at that point in time, I wanted Clemens to win the battle. I was disappointed with his performance.

There are arguably better QBs in the draft next year Tebow (if improves his mechanics), Bradford, McCoy

I really hope Ryan works out who his QB is in minicamps. Last thing I want is another bloody QB contest. Pick a starter and give him starter's reps please.

    All you KC lovers.
Yes, your right , it wasn't ' fair ' to assess someones performance on a team devoid of confidence and largely , talent. BUT..... He also couldn't beat out Pennington in pre-season/TC , looked totally awefull in last pre- season , and now has a QB behind him whos had alot LESS time to shine , but has grabbed his chances with both hands , in Brett Ratliff.
KC has never ever shown the smarts to be anything other than second string. With regards to his late scoring drives , Hes a Pro , expect nothing less.

I do want a qb battle, especially with our young qb's, it forces them to work under pressure, which is when a qb really show what he's worth. That's why I don't rate Ratliff's performances in preseason, there was no pressure at all. Let them all compete and may the best will win.

Clemens will not win any competition. He will only start again if somebody gets hurt. You hear everyday that the Jets FO considers Ratliff their QB of the future. At least among those currently on the team.

I think the official quote was something along the lines of "Dude, where's my car"

    LMAO!

Got a quote? I have never heard that the Jets FO prefers Ratliff.

And for Chad Fans saying that Chad had Clemens beaten out in camp, where's your source, too?

I agree with you. It's funny how Cassel had the same situation in preseason and flourished during the regular season. Everyone was getting on BB because MC was his backup plan..for years, then he shredded in the mid to late season.

That's where the trap comes in. Cassel is going to crash and burn on another team.

Either way I think there's plenty of evidence against KC ever becoming a winning NFL QB. He just reminds me of Glenn Foley, and we don't need that shit anymore.

Actually, by all accounts during TC, it was a dead heat between the two, so yeah, I agree. Where's this source?

Can't give you the exact quote , but there were many stories out of TC that Ratty 'had impressed more than KC did' also heard / read the same thing in pre-season. As I never saw any pre season , I would have had to have read that.

You're kidding? You haven't heard that? That fat slob Francessa says it just about every day on his show and Tannenbaum is his buddy. But they have also said it dozens of times on ESPN too. It is pretty common knowledge.

Clemens got totally s**ewed! He went 3-4 in that horrible year with no line and had Wallace Wright and Brad Smith as his primary targets in some games and could have gone 5-4 and possibly 6-2 if not for dropped passes by Mcareins and Cotchery. He deserves a chance more than anyone on the Roster. Chad went 1-9 with basically the same team from 07 and Clemens was throw in after half the team went down and asked to clean up a mess and look like a Qb when he was running for his life half the time. I hope Clemens gets a fair shot this year.

I was under the impression it is "pretty common knowledge" around here that your statements of fact are, well, untrustworthy.

Ainge is gonna take lots of time. Everyone said he was a developmental prospect and then he wound up on IR

Clemens is a career backup. Serviceable arm but shoddy decision and footwork IMO for what that's worth

Can't say much about Ratliff cause didn't follow him at Utah nor can judge much about preseason. But I like his height and build for potential success

I think the question of this year and all of next football season is...

    Could DrewAlmighty ever like NYJ2K09...again?

The best answer to both these questions is time will tell. So stay tuned folks.
