I guess I don't totally understand the need for a new stadium.

I have always liked the current stadium. It is not like the thing is falling down. Other than luxury boxes, jacking up ticket prices and such, there is no real reason to leave Giants Stadium.

You can't charge PSL's for an old stadium.

They claim they're charging PSL's to offset the construction costs of the new stadium. So it's a chicken-or-the-egg thing. Why bother building the new stadium in the first place?

Dude giants stadium is a piece of shit, and I want a stadium that I can call my home. First off, the seats are red and blue, which might not seem like a big deal to a bystander, but it always feels like we are playing in an away stadium. The seats drown out the green and white that we wear, and it is much less intimidating for the opposition. Moreover, the acoustics in that building are a disgrace, and it is very hard for us to get loud in there. Like in the Seattle stadium, Qwest Field was designed specifically to have the sound stay in the stadium and rotate with a swirling motion, so that the cheers would pump up the Seahawks and fuck with the opposing team. We need something like that.

So this stadium is going to be acoustically better? Never heard that.

And sharing a stadium with another team, that makes it feel like home?

I don't see the big deal about the seats, not every team has seats that are their team's color. Mets new stadium is going to have green seats. I don't know if the acoustics's are bad or not, it seems like a pretty standard shape for a football stadium, and I haven't heard anyone say the new stadium is supposed to be louder.

I think the stadium is fine. There's nothing great about it, but it has good sightlines, and it's not falling apart. I'm sure the new stadium will be better but it will also be much more expensive and I don't think it's worth it.

Agreed. The first time i was there i said "this is a really good place to watch a football game". But people are spoiled, and other people are greedy, and there is a lot of bullshit involved in the sports world, so the new stadium (built on toxically contaminated ground, btw) will be built, and will probably suck worse than the old one.

Now that there aren't enough rich people to pay for all the perks at the new Stadium or shoppers to pay for the Mall, there is nothing wrong with the old stadium.

Anybody that complains about the seats and acoustics is not someone paying PSL's, that's someone that sits home in the upper deck.

Luxury boxes. That's the only thing that matters. The current luxury boxes generate $5 million a year and the new ones will generate $50 million a year.

Yeah ? those red and blue seats really stand out in the first and fourth quarter when there are only 20,000 fans in there.

What is wrong with the current stadium? It's about to be bombed in another 18 months or so. Not a safe place to be around.

Speaking of PSL's, has anyone received anything from the Jets regarding paying for these? They used to have a timeline in the Fall, then it was taken off the Jets site after the Club Auctions didn't seem to do so well. Was wondering if any of the senior accounts have heard anything?

Right on. There's a simple solution.

Anybody who can't stand the current stadium and thinks we need a new one should help pay for it. They can do that by mailing in a hefty PSL.

You'd find out all of a sudden how many people want a new stadium then.
