Thought this deserved its own thread... if most of us are in love with Ryan as HC... is there any possiblity Gruden would be interested in being our OC? Talk about a serious upgrade for us...
aren't both Rich Kotite and Herm Edwards still available? We could hire one of them as head coach and the other as OC. Kotite+Favre+Herm=Super Bowl Ring x 2 Honestly, i would love Gruden as OC..but it just won't happen
i cannot see him taking a OC job, especially after being a successful head coach. if he takes this year off, there will most certainly be job opportunities next year. who knows maybe we will be looking for a coach in 2010.
Why would you want Gruden as an OC. The Guys offense is ultraconservative. His offense is so complex that its going to take a couple years for the players to get a handle. Gruden LOves Veterans players and is terrible with young players. Yea hes a great fit for Jets?
You must be crazy, hehas been a HC for 10 years and he will continue to be paid as one (21 million) for the next 3 years to sit on the beach and you ask would he be a OC...get real people.
Why it wont happen: from wiki: He didnt win one, but he has been very successful in this league. He got screwed out of a job by taking a "lower" job on the totem pole.
Mike Shanahan has about the same chance as gruden to be there head coach. Not happening. From all indications Raiders have there headcoach. Tom cable going to Keep the JOB. Don Martindale(Raiders Lb coach) probably will become DC. Marc Trestman might be the OC. John Madden probably broadcasting his last game in the superbowl. Supposedly he coming back to work in Raiders frontoffice. The bumper between Al Davis and the headcoach.
^^Besides, who in their right mind would ever accept the job unless it included at least 5 years of guaranteed money. ^^
I don't think anyone. I was trying to be sarcastic, but I guess it was a little too subtle. I was thinking possibly Martz, but after looking he never HC'ed the Rams to a championship.
