as opposed to people like you who commit the same behavior you are attempting to ridicule, while simultaneously having to reduce your opponent into a characture because you only posses the ability to address an idea of someone that you make up. which leads to the quandary, because you aren't even insulting me, you are actually insulting a character you've made up and are attempting to claim is me. again, I don't mind being attacked, I am just offended that it is being done so by people without any ability to do it well.
Sort of like how Bill Parcells took the ball out of Neil O'Donnell's hands and allowed Ray Lucas and Leon Johnson to throw passes in the '97 season finale?
your inviting attack....i have a friend who uses big words all the time to make up for his lack of self confidence...are you him? becuase its very possible...
http://forums.theganggreen.com/forumdisplay.php?f=13 Go. Keep the whining out of the Jets forum, or I will BOTD.
No way i want him as coach. That fuckin guy does not know how to develope a QB. He always has a revolving door at the position. NO WAY- STICK WITH REX!!!!
First of all, when trying to speak intelligently, try using correct grammar and sentence structure. Secondly, you're clearly unable or incapable of using spell check. Finally, your thought process is completely skewed and lacks all cohesiveness. Ultimately, if you feel as though a topic is redundant or misplaced then simply ignore it. Who are you to be calling anyone out because you feel that a certain topic should be in one forum rather than another. Clearly there was an overwhelming amount of interest on this topic as indicated by the amount of responses. Have a great night!

Tampa fired the GM as well so your theory on Shanahan is well thought out and I think it is a possibility as well. I tend to think that Gruden did a good job in Tampa. First off, he never had a QB there to speak of. Brad Johnson, Garcia, Griese to name a few. He wasn't the GM, only a the coach. They routinely ignored the offense. They did draft a Cadilliac but it broke down. He got alot out of his running backs this season, Graham, Dunn, Williams. He won a super Bowl with Brad Johnson as QB. You telling me it wasn't done with coaching? He didn;t have too many offensive superstars. I like his no nonense approach. I like his attitude. I like a coach with ANY kind of attitude. I'd like Mike T to extend an interview. If it doesn't work out, then continue down the Rex Ryan road.
Brad Johnson was a very good QB. not being a HOF QB doesn't diminish that and shouldn't elevate Gruden as if the Bucs won in spite of him because of Gruden's coaching.
Brad Johnson had merely pedistrian stats. He had a couple good years. Gruden ran the ball and had Johnson manage the game. Defense played great. He coached differently with different players in Oakland. Sounds like a good coach to me.
I understand where you're coming from, and if I didn't live down here, I'd feel the same way. But living within a stones throw of RayJay exposes me to all things Bucs. Following the ongoing saga on the Radio, Newspapers, and talking to fans has me 100% convinced that Gruden is not the droid we're looking for. As another poster alluded to and Cakes quoted, it wasn't just Garcia. It was Johnson, McCardell, and Galloway too. Now Galloway is understandable since he was hurt for the first half of the year and Antonio Bryant was having a career year in his place. He could've come back opposite him though. But the other guys, there's no excuse for. Gruden has consistently proven that he is willing to put his petty arguments above the good of the team. He's the HC, he should be above that nonsense. He's not. He grew up in a football family around football his whole life. He is arrogant and supremely immature. The way he handles everything is like that of a 2 year old. No thank you.
I completely disagree with this. The raiders were a more explosive passing team without him but had NO WHERE NEAR the running game and were NO WHERE NEAR as well balanced without him. Their two best years were 00 and 01. Remember, that they easily could have made the superbowl in 01 if it weren't for the absurd tuck rule. Also, in 00 they hosted the AFC Championship game (after going 13-3 and blowing out the Dolpins in the 2nd round) and lost to the vaunted Ravens and their incredible defense. (And remember, that was a very tight game in the first half until Tony Saragusa knocked Rich Gannon out of the game in the 2nd quarter - they ended up losing 16-3) Just because they went to the Superbowl with Bill Callahan in 02 (the first season without Gruden), doesn't mean that was their best year. (They were only 11-5 that year and were very streaky. They had an incredible passing offense with Gannon as the MVP but were very one-dimensional, as they just didn't have a serious running game at all) They were a MUCH more balanced offense with Gruden in 00 and 01. (And in 00 they were 13-3 and one of the 2 or 3 best teams in the NFL) And remember, Gruden exposed their one-dimensional, short passing game in the Superbowl when his Bucs trounced Callahan's pass-happy Raiders.
