Before we give a 35-year old pain in the ass a huge contract I'd rather see us reach up in the draft and grab this youngster Crabtree, somebody we can really build a kick-ass offense around for years to come: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZaN_ce47MOY Here's a lot more video of him this season. The threat of this kid on the field would totally change our offense. Between him, Keller, Cotchery and Washington, our offense would be sick: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fm9gAYutAwg&feature=related
isn't this the exact nonsense Philly and Dallas fans claimed? "our team will be different and he will behave for us, simply because I hope he will despite the fact that he hasn't prior." the only difference is that now there are even more examples that his behavior is chronic and not likely to change with a new team, which makes anyone who thinks, in the face of empirical evidence to the contrary that a new and different scenery will somehow now change him when it hasn't in the past, either delusional or simply stupid. say you want him because he's a great player and you don't care about the other negative ramifications, that's fine. at least you are being honest and exhibiting some awareness of fact. but to actually argue the same argument that has been proven with his last two teams to simply not work, is delusional at best, stupid at worst.
The kid is a young Randy Moss/Terrell Owens. His presence would totally change everything about how other teams would have to game-plan against us. Problem is, the entire NFL is going to be after this guy. They're already talking about #5 in the 1st Round. Check out the over-the-shoulder catch at 3:42: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fm9gAYutAwg&feature=related
He does drop a lot of passes. Thats been one of his problem for his entire career, not just now. But what he drops, he makes up for it with great runs after catches, stiff arms, and some incredible catches, not to forget his route running and becoming open more often than not. About winning the MVP than the Super Bowl, I don't buy that. Look at his history in Dallas. The only time he bitched about the play calling was when Dallas lost. I didn't hear him bitch when Dallas beat GB and he had 2 catches for 17 yards. copy pasting now: I didn't hear him bitch when Dallas beat Bengales and he had 2 catches for 67(57t,10) I didn't hear him bitch when Dallas beat TB and he had 5 catches for 33 yards. I didn't hear him bitch when Dallas beat NYG and he had 3 catches for 38 yards. I DID hear him bitch when Dallas lost to Philly while he caught 6 for 103 yards.
Give Clemens protection and I could easily see him hooking up with Crabtree like in this video. The kid looks like TO when he first came out of college (maybe better). Lousy video quality but a lot more of Crabtree's catches: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBm8xvLfr2w&feature=related
This is the kind of WR Bill Belichick will have many sleepless nights over. Big, physical, great hands... in the mold of TO and Randy Moss. If you think about not doing much else with our present offense except maybe tweaking the O-line a bit, the addition of a guy like this would immediately change the entire dynamics. Now you've got to double him whenever he's on the field. Now Keller becomes even more productive, and Cotchery and Coles (for however long he'll be with us now, because he's one good hit away from concussion syndrome). But think about how it would improve the running game... Jones and Richardson and the threat of having Leon in the flat... I get a hard on just thinking about it. Screw Favre. Clemens or Ratliff would be capable QBs because all they have to do is be responsible, protect the ball, make wise decisions and don't turn it over. The rest of your weapons would do the rest in moving the chains. The addition of ONE guy like this would change the entire offense.
great, as long as we go undefeated we'll be safe from his antics. of course, when you lose, the last thing you need is big distractions and behavior that is detrimental, which is why he is such a bad player to have on your team.
Why don't we bring in Plaxico Burress and Trade for Jeremy Shockey and totally tear apart the clubhouse. If you going to make a mess don't be half a**ed about it!
Watching that video is like watching a train wreck waiting to happen. The emotional instability exhibited by this guy is downright scary. He really doesn't need a new team, he needs serious counselling.
