You go ahead and fume and be angry and fantasize that there's some way they can lure him away from CBS, and I'll go ahead and wait for reality to bring us a HC. Deal?
I know its not going to happen, and I know its Tannenbaums fault. This pathetic coaching search is a farce. The Jets fired Mangini so they can hire another assistant... what a joke.
considering the coach of your dreams was an assistant once as well, being such doesn't seem like a detriment at all. how are some of those assistants working out now as coaches in the NFL?
If he wants to coach in NY he should let folks know that he has re-considered. But if he doesn't want to coach, move on. He's a good coach but he hardly the only good coach.
True, and I agree with the above poster that all coaches have to start somewhere, but the Jets have gone down this road quite a few times and failed miserably at it. Let other teams take the chances, and we can scoop up the "sure things".
I still would like Woody to make one last ditch effort to at least have a face to face with the man. Have Cowher say no right to your face for whatever the reason Cowher supplies. Does it hurt for Woody to say I screwed up once and am willing to reconcile and at least talk?
Woody didn't screw up - HE DIDN"T WANT COWHER! Why is this so hard for people to understand. The Cowher rumor was a media hyped drama. Cowher was the one who initiated the contact with the Jets. He "wanted to clear the air" with them. As far as the Jets were concerned there was never ever any air to clear. This was an unfounded rumor started by a media frenzy.
If you are going to conduct a Head Coach search, you have to extend an interview to all you are interested in. Reach out to their representation and put the ball in their court. You have to extend an offer for an interview to Cowher no matter what he says on TV.
they turned that stone, he said no. He was never looking forward to coaching all year, he just wanted to sit and hear what the jets had to say. They had what transpired between them and thats all. Get over it.
Let's offer him......................................................... One Trillion gazzillion bazzilion quackamillion dollars... Will this get him Dr. Evil???????
Youre right, plus he is clearly saying that the media "flurry" caused Woody to even consider him. What the heck was their plan then? Im gonna be sick.
Im sorry if you dont follow the Knicks, but Jim Dolan was running them into the ground, and the commish stepped in and basically forced him to fire Isiah and hire Walsh or Colangelo to run the team. Jim did NOT want to do that becasue HE wanted to run the show and be in the limelight. The sexual harrasement case was too much for Stern to handle. He knows that the Knicks are very important to the league and any more time with Isiah would have been a disaster. I wish Goodel would step in and tell Woody to step back and stop being such an active "fan" owner.
The Jets situation is not even close to the Knicks. What's Goodell suposed to say. "you should have spent millions of dollars to hire Cowher to satisfy some of your fan base". What exactly is Woody doing wrong that would require intervention by the Commish?
you sound like more of an uniformed fan then Woody is ever going to be.... I feel like if it was explained to you just what goes on in an organization, your head would explode.
