So what job, next do possibly Dallas could raise him up to another level? My point is that there are man angles that a NY team can use to get a HC here, and Money is one of them.

I know it didnt work, but neither did any other QB they brought in, or any other HC since Tuna.

It took until 3 weeks before the season started, the guy pretty much missed all of camp, didn't know the offense, had no chemistry with any of the players, and was out of football shape. And that's a player. There comes a time when 'due diligence' gives way to desperation.

Plus, in this case, it seems like Tannenbaum would sabotage the effort anyway. He's trying to save his own job.

    its two different situations.

Favre wanted to play somewhere and the Jets were in the running, then out, then they swooped back in and got him because Tampa Bay didn't become a great option for him.

With Cowher, he doesn't want to coach. Period.

No other teams are talking to him, he's not going to be on the field. If he announces that he will talk with teams again, then you idea becomes a possibility. But right now this means nothing because he doesn't want to play.

You mean any HC since Weeb Ewbank. I don't recall the Lombardi Trophy BP won here.

here's the big difference, buckshot. Favre WANTED to play....Cowher does NOT WANT to coach.

    this thread fails....miserbly.

Cower doesn't want to do it. What are you gonna do, force him to sign a contract?

I think the " oh oh im so excited that [insert asst. coach here] is coming to this organization" attitude is BS. I dont have to be happy about the direction the team is going in, and I dont think it would hurt for the team to have shown a little or respect for the Cowher situation. Woody was on vacation! hahahahahaha

Tannenbaum has you all fooled... He probably told Cowher to fuck off.

Basically, the team dropped the ball by not pursuing Cowher in a more aggressive manner right away. Woody was in Vacation, and the fans were getting these grainy reports from the Fan and espn about what Cowher wanted. Tanny should have told woody to get his ass on a plane and talk to the man face to face. However, worrying that his job might be on the line, he did not such thing.

Who does he have fooled? Many of us know what happened. Woody went on vacation right after he fired Mangini and left the job up to Tanny, Tanny scared a very tentative Cowher off and started the HC search for someone who wouldn't challenge his authority. Tanny should have been fired, many of us know this.

And none of that changes the fact the there is ZERO chance of hiring Bill Cowher.

Zero chance because he is telling the media that he doesn't want the job? Because he told teams through back channels that he wasn't interested? They cant have one freaking man to man conversation? Why not? If he says there is nothing you can tell me that would draw me in Woody, then you move on. That is not what happened.

I think its clear that Tannenbaum was not comfortable firing Eric from his radio interviews and the reports. He is looking out for his own job now. I dont need to be there.
