If Rex Ryan gets the job (and I personally hope he does), what Baltimore Raven will follow?
I'm sure he would like 1 or 2 current players to come that know him and his systems..That know him as a coach to talk to the current Jets about him as a person and coach..Kind of like Bellichek did with Carl Banks when he went to Cleveland...

QB Kyle Boller UFA 6 years exp. 6-3/220 California
C Jason Brown UFA years exp. 6-3/320 North Carolina
DE Dwan Edwards UFA 5 years exp. 6-3/315 Oregon State
CB Corey Ivy UFA 8 years exp. 5-9/188 Oklahoma
P Sam Koch UFA 3 years exp. 5-11/225 Nebraska
S Dawan Landry RFA 3 years exp. 6-1/220 Georgia Tech
S Jim Leonhard UFA 4 years exp. 5-8/185 Wisconsin
MLB Ray Lewis UFA 13 years exp. 6-1/245 Miami (FL)
FB Lorenzo Neal UFA 15 years exp. 5-11/255 Fresno State
OLB Bart Scott UFA 7 years exp. 6-2/240 Southern Illinois
K Matt Stover UFA 19 years exp. 5-11/178 Louisiana Tech
DE Terrell Suggs UFA 6 years exp. 6-3/260 Arizona State
TE Daniel Wilcox UFA 7 years exp. 6-1/245 Appalachian State
WR Demetrius Williams RFA 3 years exp. 6-2/198 Oregon

Quite a few good secondary players and our secondary needs big time help, Ivy is a above average player IMO, Landry is ok and Leonhard has really stepped it up this year, was all over the field last 2 games...

Could see Tanny and Woody making a run at RAY LEWIS for the (PSL PLAN) just like Favre..Sign Ray Lewis sell more tickets..

If Favre does not return, Boller? Better than the 3 we have on the roster? (Ainge,Ratliffe, Clemens)

Sam Koch, one of the top punters in the league, we still need a quality and experienced punter

I'd love to have Ray Lewis' leadership and emotion. But i cannot see dumping huge $$$ and long term contract to a linebacker on the wrong side of 30.

See Brett Favre situation...LOL...I hear you but think like Woody and Tanny, Hmmm We could sell alot of Jerseys and tickets and his pre game antics would be great coming out of our new tunnel, cha-ching more PSL's

Who in the hell is saying that Boller is better than what we have on the roster. Why dont we once give our rookies a real change behind a good line to show what they have to offer. We do not need any more over-the-hill players

Dwan Edwards would be a nice pick-up, if he recovers from his back injury - it'd be nice to have another BIG defensive end in the rotation.

I don't think Ray Lewis will ever leave the Ravens.

Does anyone know Dawan Landry's RFA tender? He'd fill a huge hole on this defense.

Terrell Suggs is probably a pipe dream because he'll end up making bank wherever he ends up...the Jets don't have the kind of cash that he'll demand.

I see Bart Scott coming with Ryan.

Kyle Boller is el terrible. He's on the same level with Clemens and Ratliff. They are young guys who haven't done ANYTHING in this league.

In no way did I say he was better, I was aksing what everyones thoughts were,

He holds the all-time Baltimore Ravens record for most career passing yards (7,846). (The previous record was 7,148; it was set in 1997 by Vinny Testaverde.)
    His stats are
    TD-INT 45-44
    Passing yards 7,846
    QB Rating 71.9

Personally if Favre does not come back I'm all for a QB battle in camp but we do need a quality back up

a lot of guys on that list i'd like. dwan edwards might be a solid piece. leonhard would fill the gaping hole at safety nicely. obviously the LBs would be amazing.

just please, lord, no kyle boller

i see Bart Scott coming over with Rex as well....not sure about Landry though, how serious is his neck injury? could be damaged goods. If Landry makes a full recovery....he'd look great opposite Rhodes playing strong safety.

Bart Scott and Dawan Landry should be the targets, other than that it's either too expensive or just not feasible.

I don't think there would be an offensive player that he brings along. If there was it might be L.Neal if we don't resign Richardson.

On the defensive side of the ball the ones to target would be:
MLB Ray Lewis UFA 13 years exp. 6-1/245 Miami (FL) - I think it is possible that Re-Re might not be in purple next year. Not sure I want him but if Rex brought him along who would I be to say no.
OLB Bart Scott UFA 7 years exp. 6-2/240 Southern Illinois - This guy would be great. He has had a real impact this year.
DE Terrell Suggs UFA 6 years exp. 6-3/260 Arizona State - This guy is the real deal.

If he brought either Suggs or Scott I'd be happy. Bring both and wow!

Don't want Lewis or Boller (for different reasons). Suggs would be too good to be true, so wont happen. I'd be good with Scott and/or Edwards.

Maybe it's wishful thinking but Ray Lewis. I don't think he'll be back, and I think he loves to win too much to go to Cincinnati to play for Marvin Lewis.

I think Bart Scott is a real possibility, but supposedly many teams rate him higher than Lewis at this point so there will be competition to get him.

Don't forget that Ryan loves Jim Leonhard.

I wouldn't be upset with Leonhard. We need to upgrade at SS.

Ravens fans around here are not happy with any of the defensive backfield outside of Ed Reed. I'm sure they'd be happy to get rid of Leonhard.

I believe that the Ravens will fight to resign Scott and Suggs. Re-re will get low-balled.

edit: Adding in this quote from the B'more Sun's Sports Columnist Mike Preston froma Q&A column.

Leonhard and Scott in my book. I like how well the kid is playing safety. He's already been involved in a couple of defensive plays this offseason to garner attention.

Also, Scott would help fill up one of the voids in the LB position. He can shed blocks in blitzes and drop back in coverage. He's listed as an OLB, but he could play alongside Harris where he's shown he can shed blocks in blitzes and drop back in coverage. These (cheaper) additions should help free up a nice high draft pick on another CB, DE or a much needed WR on offense. Forget Lewis or Suggs or even Landry. They're going to cost an arm and a leg.

The only guy i really want on that list is leonhard. I think he's been very impressive at safety opposite ed reed and is a good young player with a lot of potential. I don't think the jets should really throw any money in the LB's position this offseason. There's already a lot of money and there is still some potential there. I'm also assuming the jets go ILB in the draft because i personally want them to do so considering (IMO) this draft is incredibly deep in ILB's.
