Who do you want as the next Jets coach? It looks like it's going to be one of these three?

If it's between those choices, Ryan.

I voted Rex Ryan...only because he runs a 3-4 scheme.

But if we ended up with Spags...I'd still be excited.

Brian Schottenheimer is being considered because he's got Tanny's balls across his chin.....

I want Rex as the next coach.

  8. Rex Ryan. He'll give our team a killer instinct it hasnt had since Al Groh. He has decent experience and his defensive scheme has proved its success over many seasons.

I lean towards Ryan because we already have a 3-4 in place. I wouldn't be upset with Spagnuolo though.

I don't mind either also, but I just have a feeling Spagnuolo is going to be an elite coach.

Rex will keep our 3-4 defense in place but will demand more pressure on the QBs. Defense wins championships!!! I don't mind holding on to Brian Schott as OC while we groom him to be the HC of the future...

It would be the most moronic move in the history of football (or one of them) to hire a rookie HC and hold onto your previous regime's OC because you're grooming him to be 'HC of the future'. I don't even know how to respond to this post seriously.

It's not a good idea to hire a Head Coach just because he will keep the current defensive or offensive system in place.

Also, the reason to keep Schotty is because of familiarity with the offensive players and he's been grooming 3 young QB's - which you would like to think at least one of them is capapble of being our QB of the future.

Actually I'd love Billick, but Ryan would be my choice of the above 3. I really hope he gets the job.

I want Ryan, but Schotty to be fired from his OC spot as well. I get the feeling Ryan will be HC and Schotty will keep his post, which sucks.

I want Spags, because the cheers at Jet misadventures in the future would be "Spaz, Spaz, Spaz" from Meatballs fame.

I have a feeling whichever guy we pick will be the wrong one. But I think Spags would be the call.

With Ryan, I see it going down in a ball of flames, punctuated by stories from outspoken Buddy Ryan ripping Woody publicly for mistreating his boy.

He probably would mistreat his boy. Woody is clearly an f'n moron with decisions he has made since he's been here. But I think Rex is the right guy for the task at hand.

very tough choice between Ryan and Spags. I like Spags better as a pure coach (motivator etc.) however, i voted Ryan because he would keep the 3-4 defense and run it effectively. However i am all for bringing in spags and running a 4-3. Either one of them will do nicely.

I wouldn't be opposed to the Ryan hire, but I just have a bad feeling about it.

If Mike T. had any balls, he'd pick the guy he thinks will succeed and not put his finger in the wind. If it's Brian Schott, hire him. You might as well die by your conviction than by trying to please the masses. Because in the end, he could get away with rehiring Rich Kotite if it ultimately ended in a Super Bowl win.
