Think about this whole thing logically. If this team really wanted to hire Brian Schottenheimer as the new head coach it would have been done already. Let's face it it's either going to be Rex Ryan or Steve Spagnuolo on the sideline in '09. This deal would have been signed, sealed and delivered already if they were really interested in hiring Brian.

Ryan just spent five hours with Woody Johnson on Sunday. To me that seems like a long meeting for a potential coach that is not being heavily considered. Personally I think Ryan gets the job.

Even ESPN reported that Ryan is the leading candidate for the position earlier this evening.

There has to be at least 10 molestors that post on this site. They consistently molest our intelligence on a daily basis.

Please Abyzmul kill them, kill them all.

I'll wait till it's going across the bottom of the screen. Most of these guys reporting end up up being wrong. From what I see looks like Ryan is the highest canidate. I also remember someone on there saying it was also going to be a Manning Superbowl and that didn't happen.

Maybe we should all come together and realize that what is best for the franchise is not always what the fans think is best. The organization has been following the fans lead for a few years now and I think we'd all agree it hasn't worked out, maybe we should try the opposite approach and do the opposite of what the fans want? I think we'll have more success that way.

    Newsday article

Sounds like this is a real possibility. I'm not sure I want the team's GM letting a decision like this be influenced by the fans. If he wants Schott he should select him - hopefully it was Mangini holding him back.

That bothers me that they are worried about what fans think instead of doing what they believe in.

Did Schotty Jr. blow Tannenbaum or something? No analyst has been able to explain WHY he's so high up on the list.

I can see this goind Shotty as HC, Sutton and Callahan as DC and OC. Good continuity and they get rid of the guy that Favre and alot of the other Vets hated.
