Ive seen people project us at QB in alot of them

the picks and the analysts reasoning

Mark Sanchez QB USC (Solid arm, and mobile enough to learn on the fly behind a Jets OL good enough to keep him protected)

Knowshon Moreno HB UGA (they cite thomas jones age, and the value at 17. saying Moreno's ability to make defenders miss will not stop at the next level)

Mathew Stafford QB UGA (our qb situation and the potential Stafford shows to be a true pro style passer basically summed it up. one thing i noticed is they somehow have us passing on Jeremy Maclin. how hes available at 17 or even 18 is beyond me)

James Laurenitius LB Ohio State direct quote "Considering the way the Jets defense faded down the stretch and potential star power of the Buckeye linebacker makes Laurinaitis a stellar option heading into the new stadium."

Jeremy Maclin WR Mizzou (basically saying we need a playmaker to give thomas jones a break, and no matter who we have at QB this kid will make plays for them)

My opinion: we need to go WR/LB/DT first round. Mauluaga and Spikes9if he declares) will more thank likely be gone at 17 and Laurenitius would be a great fit on our team and a good compliment to harris. barton is getting old. if Maclin fell to 17 and we passed, i would seriously question wtf is going on in Jets Land. he'll prolly be gone before 15 anyways.

someone who i wish we'd be in a position to draft but wont be is BJ Raji DT/NT out of Boston College. the guy will be a good starter regardless and would serve as a great run stuffing DE or relief to Jenkins and heir appearant when he retires. either way if u have two DL as strong and skilled as Jenkins and as i believe Raji will be u find a way to put them on the field at the same time. but alas IMO hes a top 10 if not top 15 lock.

kenny britt fans, id be on board too. the guys great. but i believe WR/LB/DT 1st rd, DB or one of the other 2nd rd. and i believe we will have two 4th rd picks again this year, no 3rd and no 5th. im not too sure. someone could clarify that for me i guess.

I'm in the QB side of the board if Stafford falls. Maybe even Sanchez if he is there.

Moreno has a ton of talent. I would like to see him as a Jet. Hell ya. Do I want to pick him at 17? Not really. We have more pressing needs.

Laurenitius is going to be a good one. I would not mind the Pick, but rather have a QB.

Jeremy Maclin or any other wideout. Is it a need? Yea, but again I want a franchise QB drafted. If not Help for the Defense, passing rushing is a must have Item this draft. A starting safty would not hurt as well.

defense defense defense.especially if rex is h.c.but of course tanny always does a good job of filling hole predraft so the priorites could change.but above all no q.b. let the kids fight it out

i think laurenitius will be the answer to be honest. spikes(more than likely will declare) and maluaga will prolly be off the board and that might be a good thing. Laurenitus seems to be the safest bet at LB. hes also regarded in that ray lewis sense to his teammates as far as making presnap reads and commanding his team. having him next to harris would be quite good IMO.

if not like i said maybe BJ Raji punches an old lady or something and slips to 17 i love the guy.

We HAVE to bulk up our Dline and get a CB. LB is a position of strength now.

No it's not - none of the linebackers on our roster can cover worth a damn.

So do I, but he'll more than likely go higher.

LB isn't our number one need, but it is a need.

Sanchez is the right pick here. I think out biggest problems are S/ILB, but if we can get a QB of his potential, it's the pick we have to make.

We can take a Safety like Delmas or Rashad Johnson in the 2nd to compliment Rhodes, although neither are close to the talent of Mays/Moore.

Another option is to take Sanchez/Stafford in the 1st, then trade up into the early 2nd to take Clint Sintim to help at ILB.

I like your third scenario - taking Stafford/Sanchez and then trading up the get Sintim. That would be sick.

Rashad Johnson isn't worth a second round choice in my opinion. He's too small and he lacks elite speed. I still like Utah's Sean Smith as a safety - and everyone here knows I still like my boy Emanuel Cook from South Carolina as a late 4th to early 6th round pick. Look, I know the NFL's best defensive player, Ed Reed, isn't very big -- but Rashad Johnson isn't Ed Reed - not even close.

Bradford, Stafford, and Sanchez all have great potential.

    what he said.

been saying that for a while now. Its not our secondary as much as our linebackers.

Right - It's our linebackers more than anyone else. The safety spot opposite Rhodes is also a problem though.

Defensive needs DE or LB, S, and then CB.

Those positions would switch around if Taylor Mays were available at 17, but only Mays.

I hope I'm not right about Ziggy Hood rising up - I'd like to get him as a 3-4 DE in the 2nd.
