Well lets see. If Tannenbaum wants total control over the organization, why not hire Schotty or Callahan. Of course, that would cement Tannenbaum's position, which was threatened by Cowher, as the Big Boss. Unfortunately, it would also certify the New York Jets Football Organization as nothing but a sideshow to the Giants in this market.

I'm getting sick of reading that Schotty is qualified because he has interviewed for other head coaching jobs.

I am getting more tired of the people saying Tanny is not a nice guy, but a power hungry crazy as all hell son of a bitch, all because Cowher didn't come here and other experienced coaches such as Shannahan turned down the job.

You guys are absolutely nuts! I seriously doubt this was all an insane conspiracy theory to bring in Favre to fire mangini, so tannenbaum can hire an idiot. Yet that is more or less what you are implying. I repeat, you idiots are out of your flipping minds!!

This is part of the reason today is our 40 year anniversary...maybe another 40 years? Wake up they both are horrible, why waste the time?

Jerry McDonald is probably the best Raider beat writer, he writes for the Oakland Tribune. He just wrote this about Callahan in his blog today, thought you guys might find it interesting:

I thought bringing him to NY as an offensive line coach was a great move but I wouldn't want to see him as HC if I were you...

Me either, but its either picking drowning(Callahan) or being lit on fire (Shottenheimer) I would take drowning.

    Hopefuly is Rexual Healing

I dodn't want schotty jr either but the Steelers have hardly crumbled since Cowher left, so if he doesn't want to coach, who cares? Same can be said for the Billick lovers, I believe they were well under .500 last year.

That's the same as with the Cowboys after Jimmy Johnson left and the Buccaneers after Tony Dungy left.

Probably just courtesy. I doubt Callahan is really in the running anyway.

it wouldn't surprise me if Callahan is also considered as a candidate for the offensive coordinator position

I think it's the 'Okay, we found another Yes-man HC, your job is secure' Interview.

It could just be to see if they are still interested in being part of the organization if Ryan was hired to be the coach. There could already be an agreement that between Ryan and the team that these guys stay on if he is hired.

That's what we said about their first interviews. These two are beginning to worry me now.

What makes you think Ryan is a "Yes-man?"

just watched the "Around the League" segment with that fat mess Michael Fabiano on NFL Network. He said that everyone he's talked to is mentioning Schotty JR as a frontrunner. Rex Ryan is up there as well...but the FO figures that Schotty Jr will have the best shot at retaining Brett Favre.....

F*ck!! let the old man retire.....let's bring in some new blood!! I'm sick of hearing about Brian fucking Schottenheimer....get rid of that stupid clown.
