Bryant and Benn are like 1A and 1B, unless we truly suck I see no reason why we should land one. Think of it like Rogers and Johnson in the '03 draft. They're big, they're fast, and they're physical as fuck. I agree that Williams is probably a better RT than LT, but his measurables will get him a look there. I think you've got his game all wrong, cause he's not all that dominant in the running game. Guys like Perry and Boone are just preliminary BS...it's just the stuff at the beginning of draft season to get analysis going. Also helps/doesn't help that Perry has been hurt, and Boone is a lazy SOB.
I don't see Clay Matthews slipping to the 6th round. Who cares if he didn't earn a starting spot? Look at the linebackers in front of him.
Boone could have been a 1st round OT in the 08 draft had he declared early, and Perry got injured - which is a risk you take when you return to school. 2010 OTs Young Ulatoski Okung Davis Schilling Wang Ziemba Williams Williams could go as high as 4th OT or as low as 9th. Regardless, there will be a very good OT in the 3rd for us to take in 2010. I would trade our 1st with a future 2nd and late rounder to move up to get Benn or Bryant if we need to. I really think that #1 WR is that important to this offense.
Personally, I think it's kind of ridiculous to have a mock draft that includes NEXT year's draft as well. But anyway.. I love the signings. Sean Jones is a very underrated player and would be a great addition. Same deal with Canty. Whether he starts or not, he'd be a great rotational player at worst. If Stafford or Bradford fell to #17, which seems like a stretch, it would be a mistake to pass on either. This team could use another WR, especially one with height. I like Stuckey and Clowney, but adding a guy like that would be huge for this offense. A guy that can play CB or S would be nice. Although you don't seem to see many 6-3 corners. But I guess if he's good enough it doesn't matter. Overall, I'd be thrilled with this offseason, including Rex Ryan as the new head coach. I didn't bother with the 2010 draft. Great job for 2009 though..
Thanks for the feedback. I think with a victory Bradford solidifies his spot as the Lions pick at #1 instead of Stafford. Sean Smith is just one of the CBs I like in the 3rd round, but having a big corner is something I like with teams using more and more 6'2-6'4 WRs that would create match-up problems with the average 5'10-5'11 CB.
Ehh, Bradford played a good game but with the loss I'm not so sure he comes out for the draft anymore. If he doesn't Stafford will go #1 and that will change things. We could take Sanchez with our #1 if that happens.
What is with everyone and Clowney. I know he had an impressive pre-season but he didnt do shit in the regular season. Give credit when credit is due. I like clowney's speed, but his hands, come gametime versus a starting D have proven to be suspect.
He has tremendous speed and has potential. As for hands, you clearly didn't see the Bills game where he made that circus catch along the sidelines. It was the best catch by a Jet all season. It was also the first and only time he got a pass thrown his way. He was hurt most of the year and wasn't active until the last couple games. He looked like the slot WR until he got hurt. And how do you say his hands against a starting defense have proven suspect. He's caught one pass in the NFL and it was an incredible circus catch. That's a pretty ridiculous statement.
Clowney has potential and I would love to see the next coaching staff give him a shot. That said, I think the Cothcery One handed, on the helmt catch, was the catch of a year by any Jets player.
Making a great catch doesn't mean he has great hands. It means he made a great catch. I like Clowney's potential, and I hope he gets a shot with New Guy and friends. Still, his game isn't blow you away good...if it was that probably wouldn't have been his first catch all season.

Clowney has a ton of potential as a slot receiver. With this draft (over the two years) he would be learning behind Cotch in the slot role and playing the #4 WR in 4-5 WR sets. Then the WR core of the future is #1 - Benn, #2 - Britt, #3 - Clowney, #4 - Stuckey back to the actual thread fellas...
For whatever reason I skipped over Cotch in my mind. #1 - Benn #2 - Britt #3 - Cotch #4 - Clowney #5 - Stuckey We'd have the best offense, or at least passing game, in the league barring a moronic OC. With Dez Bryant and Damian Williams likely to declare with Benn next year, I could see Benn falling. All of the players have similar speed and build with Williams being the smallest only by about 10 lbs but also the fastest. However of the 3 I anticipate Benn's stats to be the least impressive. Bryant could become the #1 WR for the draft with Robinson throwing it to him all day, and Williams could move past Benn especially if Sanchez stays (did you see the Rose Bowl?? He was unstoppable). Either way, one of those 3 should be available in the 1st round in 2010 when we are on the clock and we should take one of them. I believe all are capable of being #1 WRs in the NFL.

You have Driver, Jennings, if Clowney was able to be the kind of receiver you say he will be, why didnt he start at slot in the games? NO. He was dropped. He was drafted in 2007 by GB, then Clowney was signed by the New York Jets on October 3, 2007. He was released on October 23, and signed to the Jets practice squad two days later. However he was released from the practice squad on December 11. Clowney was re-signed by the Jets on January 15, 2008. He has ONE career catch for 26 yards. Lets see how he does in the offseason now that his shoulder should be better. Fuck a preseason, I want to see what Clowney can bring in the regular season.
