"The long ball is definitely his strength. His long speed is I believe one of the tops in the collegiate game, if not the top. Keep in mind he will measure in at above 6-2. He's great when the ball is in the air, very athletic"

That would help BF with his goofy deep passes.

Whats with this whole Donald Brown thing?

Not only do we have 2 perfectly fine RBs and tons of other places that could use better depth...but it's not like he's someone I'm falling over myself to see on the Jets.

Maybe I underrate. Maybe I just hate. But iunno...I'd rather have more depth at other positions.

    Post bowl game hype, right?

It's gotta be...he had by far the best game of any of the high profile RBs.

his best game of his career was against Buffalo in the bowl game.

it is all hype. the hype generated around him reminds me of the hype around Gholston. put up great numbers in the season, will have an amazing combine, or impressive workout, and IMO, ineffective.

How about a Defensive end or a Cornerback. We might as well try to build the Ravens Defense since nobody can figure out what to do with the Qb situation of the last 40 years!

This is another reason why Mangini deserved to get canned. Had he played Clowney more when he got back, we might have a better idea of whether we need to spend a 1st round pick on a WR.

To me, if you're playing the 3-4, you need to think about a young NT to spot Jenkins and be there when he has the inevitable last injury of his career. He's old and fat and he's not going to last too much longer.

That being said, we need a Seymour type DE to help as well.

Let's build a championship level defense first, since our offense is in flux. You can win a Super Bowl with a great defense and a decent running game (which we already have).

He's terrible...I promise. He's more of a system QB than Tim Tebow is right now.

It's tough to say who could be a target until we get a decision on the HC. Spagnoulo, Ryan or Schottenheimer would probably be looking at 3 different guys with that first pick.

    Schott: WR
    Ryan: 3-4 guy
    Spags: 4-3 guy

    ...this is one big mess.

being that im from carolina, i was able to see a lot of Heyward-Bey. The guy's a playmaker. He's not on Calvin Johnson's level when he was w/ G. Tech, but still top caliber. Unfortunately, I don't see him falling to the 17th pick. The lowest i see him going is #11 or #12

Want a pick that rains down the BOOS.

I am hoping for a pick that can be added to the video this year. At this point, it seems that the Gholston pick should have caused the common reaction, which it did not because it fell in line with the "experts".

So at this point I would rather just enjoy teh draft day with a horrendous first round pick that shakes Radio City to the ground.

Taylor Mays would be a great pick up to play opposite of Rhodes. A for sure up grade in the secondary. How about Josh Freeman for the QB pick? 6'6 250lbs He like Holbrook had a lousy team record but the kid started 6 games into his freshmen year and has improved every single season. He may be the diamond in the rough the Jets are looking for.

IMHO We need to concentrate on DEFENSE in this draft. Our Offense is at least sevicable with Leon and TJ no matter WHO the QB is. We need a STRONG D to compete! look at Baltimore - they are competitive EVERY year because of their strong defense

Knowshon Moreno now, but if we miss him Dexter McCluster will be available next year. I have no opinion on defense at this time, except Bama has a few good people in the secondary and Ole Miss is pretty good on the line. (we ruined tebow and that graham who fellow from texas tech in those respective games)

    He is rough alright.

He played less, through for less yards and had an accuracy rating 10 points less.

Holbrook averaged 70% completions over a three season starting period, while Freeman averaged less than 60%.

    Stats Stats Stats.

Look at Alex Smith, Brian Brohm, Colt Brennan...

Do not use statistics to justify a players ability to play professional football.
Measurables are one thing, but stats like QB rating, yards, completions, are deceiving.

Until a player is actually playing pro ball, stats and film are all you have and even that can go drastically wrong.

Just look at last years pick! DISASTER!!!!
