    I haven't seen this posted,

The full team and league schedules won't be released by the NFL until April, but here is a quick look at the Jets' '09 opponents:

    HOME

AFC East ? Buffalo (7-9), Miami (11-5), New England (11-5)

AFC North ? Cincinnati (4-11-1): Bengals won their last three to pass Browns for third place, and return to the Meadowlands next year, where they have lost seven straight to the Jets.

AFC South ? Tennessee (13-3): AFC's top seed and a Jets opponent for fourth straight year but for the first time at home since 2003). Jacksonville (5-11): Also the Jaguars' first Meadowlands visit since '03, comeback win for Green & White, and '05, shoulder disaster for Chad Pennington and Jay Fiedler).

NFC South ? Atlanta (11-5): Jets host Falcons, led in by Matt Ryan and John Abraham, for first times in 11 years. Carolina (12-4) Panthers, who dueled Giants for NFC's top seed, last played Jets at Meadowlands in '98.

    AWAY

AFC East ? Buffalo (7-9), Miami (11-5), New England (11-5)

AFC South ? Indianapolis (12-4): First game in Lucas Oil Stadium against Peyton Manning and Colts, who had a strong '08 finish. Houston (8-8): Jets' only game at Reliant Stadium was '03 come-from-behind win over Texans.

AFC West ? Oakland (5-11): Green & White, who enjoyed their Oakland years a while back, return to the Bay area for the second straight year vs. the Silver & Black.

NFC South ? New Orleans (8-8): Drew Brees and Saints' prolific offense will be waiting in Jets' first Superdome visit since '01 Sunday night triumph. Tampa Bay (9-7): Jets haven't played at the Buccaneers since Wayne Chrebet "Flashlight Game" win in 2000.

3-13 or 4-12 at best with a rookie HC and no QB...get used to the idea. They were 9-7 with a powder puff schedule this year.

Why does it seem as if we ALWAYS have to play AT Oakland.

We don't know that our HC is going to be a "rookie". And we don't know what the QB situation is going to look like either. That said, we're playing some tough teams next season.

come on can we wait a bit and see what the offseason brings- anyone who followed this team knows 11 wins is where we should have finished minimum- and if we believed we did not under achieve our coach would have not been fired. Additionally you all say how favre killed us so has anyone considered the QB position if that is the case could or will be an upgrade?
I can't tank on the season in January
Please lets all relax and enjoy 0-0 and expectations.

You're right of course but I am basing it on what I see now and what I expect our illustrious GM to do going forward.

Good stuff, thanks. So no chance of Mangini and the Browns coming in and eliminating us in Week 17, that's good.

Yea it was posted like the next the day after we lost by 3 different people but your post has some nice facts and detail next to each team. Seems like we should just add oakland in our divison we play them every dam year anyway.

Well U play the team in the other 2 AFC divisions that you do not play so we finished 3rd in the AFCE & Oak finished 3rd in the AFCW thus under the formula used we play them again

So one of us needs to not finish third every year if we're tired of playing Oakland.
