was told by boston college that he will be fired if he interviews for the Jets job. He said that he is still going to the interview.

That's terrible if it's true. I could understand if he was interviewing for another college, but it's his shot at being an NFL coach. If the Jets don't choose him, that's that. Don't fire the man too.

Firing somebody just for interviewing? Esp. somebody as successful as Jagodzinski? That's pretty pathetic

    Typical of a Boston school.

Then again, this may be a clever ploy to get the Jets to feel bad and hire the guy after he is "fired". That way, they dump their trash on us, we continue to be a joke, and they go out and find a real coach.

The AD, Gene DiFillippo is a noted moron. I'm not surprised at all.

    Wow! Fired for interviewing?

Jags is a really good coach and has good pro experience- if my opinion mattered, he'd be on my shortlist.

Wow, he must really think he can nail the interview. That's the fire and confidence I want from a coach.

Thats bush league by Boston College.

We havent talked about him though, he's an intriging candidate. I was against the firing of Mangini, and havent been particularly siked about our current candidates but something about him interests me. Hes a good offensive mind, its high-flying style is exciting and has been successful. He's firey and has experience in the Nfl notably as Packers Offensive Coordinator. Also he did some great work developing Matt Ryan at BC- Maybe he'll be the darkhorse that rescues the Jets?

Reading between or under the lines, it seems that there's an issue between him and the AD--at least, they don't seem to be buddy buddy.
Also, unless it says in his contract that he can be fired for interviewing, I don't think they can get away with it without compensating him his full contract value.

He must be a serious candidate if he's willing to get fired over the interview

The cynical part of me says that Woody is going after this former Green Bay OC to attempt to coax Favre out of retirement. Damn, the Jets and Mets have made me a pretty pessimistic fan

maybe he wants an interview to have a shot at the O-cord. I'm sure if he was offered he would take it over the BC HC job.
