Learned this yesterday (a la the web).

    1. He's a Masshole (Whitinsville, MA).

    2. His birthname is "Steve", not "Steven" or "Stephen". That's like naming your kid Bobby instead of Robert. And his middle name is "Julio", I don't like it.

    3. He's a bible beater. Apparently he signs his autograph w/ a psalm number or something from the bible. "With his signature, Spagnuolo writes "HEB 11:1". Hebrews 11:1 is a verse from the Bible, and it says: "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen."

    4. (my own) He's a vagiant. And like the pats, i'd rather not have there cast offs.

    5. He's a 4-3 Def. coach. (Ryan/Schott, run a 3-4).
All these things are enuf for me to shun him. Here's hoping for Rex Ryan or Marty Schott.

and clearly these are reasons he can't be a good coach for the Jets. Thanks for clearing that up.

I object to #2. My birthname is Tom instead of Thomas.

I got a problem with 3. So what if he's a man of faith. Its not like he's running for president under the Christian Party or something. His beliefs are his own as long as he doesn't try to convert the entire roster, its all good.

Besides, he'll be doing just like the last several Jets HC's have done. Learning On The Job. I really don't see the Bible as an issue here. God has forsaken the Jets long before Spagnuola

Only legit one here is 5.

I'm not in favor of switching back to the 4-3. I'd like to bring in Rex Ryan to run our 3-4.

    correct

I am an atheist and I couldn't really care less who follows what faith. its THEIR faith, leave them to it

if he ever knocked on my door ranting about god then it would be an issue, until then, let him coach the jets

I fail to see a clear reason not to want Spagnuolo.

In regards to a 3-4/4-3, it's entirely irrelevant. You're going to have to give whatever new coach you want the full ability to implement his schemes. Quite frankly, it is far easier to find 4-3 personnel than it is to find 3-4 personnel, and a switch to the 4-3 might be what a guy like Gholston needs to save his career.

Agree 100%. Salvaging some production from our 2008 #1 draft pick needs to be a huge priority this offseason. Like Gholston or hate him, we are stuck with him for a while.

I was just thinking about something earlier. Everyone is talking about experience. Let's keep in mind that Vince Lombardi only had about a year of experience before taking the helm at Green Bay.

The off-season is officially here. The stupidity in the vast majority of posts is rampant.
