It's easy as a fan to start hating this team.

"Meanwhile, new details of the Jets' quick and ill-fated courtship of Cowher have come to light. He had agreed Tuesday to speak with the Jets about their vacancy, but he withdrew his name from consideration several hours later because, in part, he wasn't able to speak directly with owner Woody Johnson, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.

"Bill Cowher easily could've been enticed to coach if Woody Johnson would've taken a sit-down meeting with him," the person said. "Cowher's camp was told that Woody was out of the country and couldn't have a sit-down with him."

Yeah my brother just told me that he heard that on the radio on his way to work.....

There better have been a family emergency or he was checking his swiss bank accounts, because if he canned mangini, then leaves the country for vacation, he's a total idiot

There are so many rumors flying around about what actually happened it's hard to tell what really did go on.

    Here are the facts:
-Bill Cowher won't be coaching the Jets next year.
-Woody is 0-9 in bringing a Super Bowl to New York.

This idiot must have fired Mangini right away, so he can leave for vacation ASAP. Then turns out we are losing on best coaching prospect for the same reason. What a freaking tool.

Okay. So you know he was there? Wondering if you have information the media doesn't.

Yeah, I was about to ask the same thing. Why should we believe him and not the media?

Adam Schefter, the best info man in the business, said all week.Cowher was not coaching anybody for anything. It's piling on and unfair. If Cowher wanted the job, why wouldn't he wait. Schefter is right 10 times more than anyone else

Maybe you didn't read the article, you should. It said he would have interviewed for the job, not that he would take it. So where is the piling on and unfairness?..oh boo-hoo....Oh, and Schefter isn't his mommy. The best he can do is guess at what Cowher may do like all the rest. If he had taken an interview anything could have resulted from it. Johnson ensured that wouldn't happen by being out of the country.

Why would Johnson be out of the country?

***Posted this in another Thread....apparently needs repeating.***

ESPN is saying the Jets AREN'T interested in Shannahan or Marty Schott.

And this is funny. A large number of you have been tearing Brett apart over Cowher not coming here. Now reports say it's because Woody wasn't there. Now your going after Woody. Am I the only person left in Jets nation who'd rather sit back and let things unfold before jumping to any conclussion? I haven't heard Cowher say anything on the subject, so as far as I'm concerned, at this point, he just didn't want to coach. Quit taking everything you read and everything you hear and turning it into biblical truth.

This is the most annoying thing about this site. Here's the typical off season topic so far....

    In random conversation...

Jet Fan 1: "Wouldn't it be funny if the Colts cut Payton Manning to save cap room?"
Jet Fan 2: "Yeah, and then the Jets signed him, and traded for Fitzgerald and Bolden."
Jet Fan 1: "That'd be cool."

Later, on theganggreen.com, Jet Fan 1 makes a new post claiming to have heard the Colts were going to cut Manning and the Jets were interested. Jet Fan 2 will then post that since this developed, he heard the Jets were also looking agressively to trade for the Cards 2 WRs to compliment Manning in NY. Then, everybody learns it isn't going to happen and it's all because Favre wouldn't endorse it and Mike Ditka wouldn't coach the Jets unless the deal happened. Meanwhile, Woody Johnson was at Kraft's house finding ways to further sabatoge the Jets future. On top of that, reports surface claiming Kerry Rhodes has been f-cking Revis' mother and can't stand playing with him.

PEOPLE....GET A LIFE! Discuss facts and possibilities...but don't turn possibilities into facts!

    Thank you.

We're looking for a head coach, and our owner is out of the country. There seems to be a problem.

What is your point again? Where does Manning fit in with Johnson? Oh, and the Jets reached out to Shanahan yesterday. So, once more, tell us why we should listen to you.

    You guys don't get it.

Tannenbaum is going nowhere , hence he is the one hiring the Jets next coach, he is the one doing the interviewing (especially the inital ones) , it could be possible that after it is narrowed down the second interviews MIGHT include Woody.

The only way Woody would have to be the man in this Coaching search is if he canned Tanny and that ain't gonna happen.

Cowhwer is used to a close knit organization with the Rooney's in Pittsburgh and he is not goona find that here with the Jets.

Our next coach will be a first time coordinator promoted - probably Rex Ryan
