Just saying. The more I look into Rex Ryan the more I see similarities between him and John Fox. Both coached great defenses, and Rex Ryan's resume looks very similar to Fox's at the time of his hire.

I wouldn't mind that at all to be quite honest.

I've been swaying back and fourth between Ryan and Spags.

Ryan has more experience than Spags. I also hear Spags is a jesus freak, and I don't know how great I'd feel about the team having pregame prayer sessions.

If it comes down to eitehr Spags or Rex Ryan I would go with Ryan since he runs a great 3-4 and Spags Runs a great 4-3 and where a 3-4 Team thought we suck at it i think we cant just go back like that. Ryan is a great Defensive Coach and I wouldn't mind giving him the hire.

It should be either Spags or Rex Ryan. An maybe that Jim schwartz from the Titans he's not bad either.

If Rex Ryan is that good and a clear candidate for head coach why did Baltimore not hire him in that role after last season when Billick was fired? They fired the entire staff alongside Billick (as the Jets should have just done - with the sole exception of Mike Westhoff), interviewed Ryan for head coach and rejected him, then rehired him as DC after Harbaugh was hired to be head coach. Then they quietly went out and had a great season.

BTW, the Jets are going about the current process wrong in my opinion. What coach would want to come in here knowing that HE was going to be responsible for firing people hired by the old regime or having to live with them instead of his own choices? The Jets aren't going to get anybody serious to bite at the job unless they clean house first. I really hope we don't have to wait until February for this to become clear.

My first choice now that Cowher is out of the running is Rex Ryan. He has good football ties, a proven top notch coordinator (unlike Mangini) with the desired amount of experience. He can adjust his D according to situation and likes to bring the heat. He's run the 3-4 before and this team has 3-4 guys already on D. Sounds like a good fit. I'll take Nolan as DC too; he called a solid D for us in 2000 (9th ranked I believe).

Rex Ryan is as big of a risk as I'd take right now for an HC position. If we don't get Marty than I'll take Ryan in a heartbeat.

you'd be shocked at how much prayer there is in football.... most teams hire their own Chaplain. I interned for a New York Penn League team and they have a chaplain as well.

Praying and sports go hand in hand. It wouldn't be anything new, and its probably going on with the Jets currently.

    Praise Revis Christ.

Everyone should look up the success of Giants coordinators who are hired as head coaches.... that's one impressive list of DCs.
