The Jets regular season record now stands at 331 wins, 401 losses, and 8 ties. They are the first of the eight charter AFL franchises to reach the 400-loss mark. The other seven? Raiders- 324 losses Broncos- 344 Texans/Chiefs- 347 Patriots- 354 Chargers- 367 Oilers/Titans- 371 Bills- 384 The only AFC team with more all-time regular season losses is the Pittsburgh Steelers. They have lost 488 games. They've been in existence since 1933, however.
Damn, this is depressing. Some of you really know how to kick a franchise when they're down. Here's the thing, I don't think the Jets are going to be taken seriously until they atleast have 3-4 really good seasons; in a row. It seems that when we do make Post-Season (2002, 2006), we're just considered "A Flash In The Pan" etc etc. We need a really strong 3-4 year run, with some really nice wins over the Pats before people really begin to buzz about us each year....Excluding Jets fans that is.
Yep. To achieve those good seasons in a row, we need to find stability with the coaches. This is an extremely crucial offseason. A bad hiring could once again set the franchise back years. This team is ready to win but not just in the short term, I feel. We've been able to draft and we've got a cap guru. With the right head coach and coordinators, we may finally establish ourselves in the AFC. Then again, the Jets will probably hire Mike Tice or Rich Kotite and disappoint us for the umpteenth time.
There are some, but not many. One could argue that the Jets have a better history than the Bengals, Houston Texans, Cardinals, Saints, Falcons, and Buccaneers. As pathetic as the Raiders are now, their history is significantly better than the Jets. The Lions also have a better history. Nobody won more league titles than the Lions in the 1950s (the Lions and Browns each won three). However, since the Jets came into existence, they probably are better than the Lions.
Ugghh then those fucks came from 7 games back and took my heart and this year they win the WS. There is no justice in the sports world for me.
You said it. I think the only years that we were relevant at all was 1968 and 1997 & 1998. The rest is shit.
At least we have something to hang our hats on. Its takes a certain "talent" to lose 400 games in the NFL. Only the vaunted Steelers have lost more? Wow.. Thinking I'm gonna go have a V8 now Until this franchise stops acting like an expansion team, we'll always be a sideshow to the Giants in this market.
U forgot 69 when we again won the AFLE but lost to KC in a sort of like wildcard game to KC who then went on to beat Oak & then beat Minny to win the SB
Yes, the only American Football Conference team with more losses is the Steelers and mainly because they existed for 25 seasons before the Titans/Jets fielded a team.
