He beat a good steeler team last year with a horrible offensive line. I hope he gets a chance

Clemens sucks guys. He's short, his footwork sucks, and his stats sucked last year in his 8 starts.

Thats an ample size, and few QBs get over poor early career starts.

He had his shot. He missed it. And my guess is that he's fallen way behind Ratliff. Especially after Ratliff's mind-blowing preseason.

Sometimes I'm really blown away by ignorance. 8 fuckin starts...he actually WON half of them...this boards fuckin double think bullshit sometimes is amazing...wins matter...but not in this case...cause he had a bad QB rating...and he didn't dominate the game like a REAL winner or some other vague, cliche reason.

Same here, he had some flashes last season (the Baltimore 4th quarter and the Steelers game). Behind a solid offensive line and *hopefully* a good coaching staff I can think he can be productive

Any QB can be productive with that, which is why the idea that Clemens both sucks and always will sucks is absurd.

Plus, he's about the same height as Favre. Brett isn't a 6'4" guy either.

The pre-season only proves your worth against the back-ups you are playing against. The QB position os a very integral part of the offense. A back-up DB that you may be facing in the pre-season could actually be a former QB or RB or even a WR. The point is, beating a back-up BD is a lot different than beating a starter. Give me the open competition in TC and we will see what happens from there.

Nonsense. What a load of crap. People are ready to dismiss Clemens after 5 games with NO Offensive Line but they stick with Brett after he was instrumental in the last 3-4 losses due to absolutely crappy and mindless interceptions . Get rid of Brett and give Kellen the benefit of playing at least one whole season before you start passing judgement.

WE already have a good enough QB, why waste a season in Research and Development, which may easily fail.

Bretty Ratty should be the starter before Clemens ever sees the field again.

Clemens had the time on the bench to watch and learn, which many young QB don't get. He also was given half a season to show some sign of being able to be an NFL QB, and he only showed he would be a backup at best.

GS GP Comp Att Att/G Pct Yds Yds/G Yds/Att TD Int Sack Rate
    8 - 10 - 130 - 250 -25.0 - 52.0 - 1529 - 152.9 - 6.1 - 5 - 10 - 27 - 60.9

Clemens is kissing ass in the article and he isn't even sure where to aim his lips.

What's the differents between kissing ass and eating shit?

two inches ... and a slip of the tongue :p

Cut Farve. Start Ratty. Let Kellen hold the clipboard.

I've always really liked Clemens, and I still think he can be a very good NFL QB.

I like Ratliff, but the people on this board have a ridiculous man-crush of him, and it's pretty excessive.

I think Clemens will win the job midway through the preseason, but he and Ratliff should really just fight it out to see who is better.

Maybe you didn't see how bad he was in the preseason last year, but...
    Nonetheless, I basically agree.

Whats the difference between doing that and playing a rookie QB from the 2009 draft?

You have to get through the rough stretches to see what you have. As everyone said, Clemens did OK(Not good but not horrible) with an awful supporting cast around him, including a mediocre LG and RT and McCareins as a no.3(He did great vs Baltimore.............Helped Clemens out there late in the game)

Clem should have been given a chance this season as the pickmachine imploded. I believe all young QB's need a fair crack before being discarded. A good example is Tavaris Jackson at the Vikes. he was awful early in his carreer but looks pretty solid now.

When has that ever helped? If you really want a good QB, try letting the CS develop a QB. Its much better that having two QBs battle it out. Why do you think Clemens never learned anything? Mangini and Co. never bothered to develop him properly.
