You are a failure in the NFL. No respectable coach wants to work for you because you are a moron who has no idea how to surround yourself with football minds. Your PSL auction was a resounding failure, to no one's surprise but your own. Your bid for a West Side stadium was a resounding failure to no one's surprise but your own. People root for this team to win, they don't root for your bottom line. There are worse owners in the league right now than you, but only because they've had longer to destroy their investment. I am not buying another thread of Jets merchandise until you are gone. I am not buying another ticket to a Jets game until you are gone. Boycott.
I cancelled my NFL Sunday Ticket renewal as well. I'm done until this team shows some form of progress both in the FO and on the field. I just can't, in good consciousness, throw good money away anymore on this franchise. I'll keep what Jet gear I already own and watch the reruns on NFLHD. Other than that, I'll just watch this team from a different and cheaper point of view now.
shit man...i didn't think you'd pack it in. Woody is the grand poobah of dunces..I'll agree with you there..but all hope isn't lost....Cowher would've been an excellent hire....but there are other viable options (Spags, Scwhartz, Shanny, Rex Ryan).
Amen...put it up for sale, and go back to the petroleum based product sales. Getting lubed in the ass is about the only thing you've excelled at.
I'm not going to stop rooting for the team. I have been a Jets fan for too long. But at this point I'll be damned if that jackass is going to get another dime from me.
My wife's from Missouri and for the foreseable future, so am I... I'll still root for this team BUT, the team has to SHOW ME from now on. No more propoganda, flashy FA signings and so forth. Money is tighter these days than ever before so I'm not wasting anymore of mine on this franchise UNTIL they prove they're no longer the sideshow that they've been since Woody took over.
hahaha...I love the Missouri/ShowMe analogy...i'm Canadian and I use it all the time. You have a valid arguement, my friend...I'm just trying to stay positive.....I wanted Cowher too...but i had to keep in the back of my mind that Woody would somehow fuck this up...after all, this is the Jets.
We all knew the reason Parcells left was because of this moron and that is why it's only a dream that he would come back.
This is very disappointing. I can't deal with Marty ball after what we've been put through since Woody took over the Jets.
Did you forget the Parcells era? Bless Leon Hess, fool that he was. In his final years he finally got it right. Too bad it was too little too late.
No no no. We've been a sideshow in this town for the last 38years so yeah, Leon gets his share of the blame too. As it is that we've only had 3 owners in our entire existence and two of them pretty much were nice rich guys with no football knowledge, its a small wonder that this entire episode has turned into yet another clusterfck.
Those were as close to "glory years" as this franchise will ever get at this rate.. That's why I said 38 years of being a sideshow. Even when Parcells left, he turned that into a grotesque theatre of the absurd. I won't even go into Belichek catching a train to NE and only leaving a note behind..
2000: 9-7 (Parcells influence) 2001: 10-6 (Parcells influence) 2002: 9-7 (Parcells influence) 2003: 6-10 (Bradway influence) 2004: 10-6 (Bradway influence) 2005: 4-12 (Bradway influence) 2006: 10-6 (mixed influence) 2007: 4-12 (mixed influence) 2008: 9-7 (Tannenbaum influence) This is how the Jets have gone under Woody. They are 43-53 since Parcells remake of the Jets began to wither away. That puts them pretty squarely at the top of the bottom third of the league over that period. Woody needs to understand that he has not had good people running the show at any point since Parcells left and that he needs to do a fairly thorough housecleaning at this juncture if he wants to be successful. On the bright side the record would be worse under a Leon Hess ownership at this point because we'd (maybe) be working on the second transition now instead of the third. Woody's strength is that he will not accept sustained failure. That's a potentially very strong element moving forward.
He wants to win as bad as we do, the problem is, he's starting to make football decsions like firing Mangini and wanting Favre back. Mr. T has no say anymore and Mangini is gone so we get the right wing NY socialite running our football team. Our only hope is Cowher is giving full control of the roster and brings in a football guy to run things and MR. T takes care of the businees end. The next few weeks will decide the future of the Jets for the next 5 years. Remember, everything that is being done, is about selling PSL's. If we pick the wrong person, we could suck for years to come
