1st of all......Mangini shouldn't have been fired. Huge mistake by the Jets'. He had winning seasons 2 of 3 years. Jets' have been losing every year for a long time. All Jets' needed to do was replace coordinators & upgrade personnel. Jets' weren't going to Super Bowl this year, maybe the playoffs...but lets get real.

This is what makes me wonder ....How 2 old pals {Mangini & Tannenbaum} 2 white boys.....Can turn on each other ??? Just doesn't add up !!! Has to be the $$$$$$...Thats right ...The new stadium...the PSL's....we been hearing so much about. Its just all starting to add up !!!

This may sound crazy, but to crazy to be wrong ???

Jets' & Woody Johnson made it very clear on Monday that they wanted Favre back. They made that crystal clear. They also had no sane or tangible reason for firing Eric Mangini. Because if it was for Chad beating them, Tannebaum was as much a part of the decision making process as Mangini.

Now for those of us, that wanted Mangini fired...It brought satisfaction, but everybody that truely loves the Jets' know that it was a very wrong decision !!! It was....."Just Wrong "...

    Thats why the reason Mangini was let go was because _ _ _ _ _ _ ?
Thats right...He was sick of seeing Brett Favre throw INT's. Yep, picture Mangini's face of agony when Brett kept throwing those INT's. 9 INT's in 3 to 4 weeks & 1 TD. Mangini probally wanted to bench him & management wouldn't let him. Mangini just had to sit back & take it. Mangini definitely didn't want Favre back, so Mangini had to go. Its' all about the $$$$$$$$$$. The new stadium.

Mangini wanted no parts of Favre again. Remember hearing whispers of of Brett & Mangini having differences.....well, it musta been true.

    What a damn shame......Woody Johnson....its his team.....so what can I say.

mangini and sutton are solely responsible for the crappy defense. during the collapse, the opposing qb had enough time to cook lunch and eat it.

no matter how many guys you have in coverage, any competant nfl qb can find somebody open if he has 7 minutes to throw.

No, you're not crazy because I'm not crazy!!! A lil off sometimes but no.

    I'm with you!!!

especially after hearing the PC. It became evident that Favre was the centerpoint.

And PLEASE someone post the PC and listen to the way tannywood answered the question posted about if a new HC came here and wanted to bench Favre.

Woody began to say something very much to the effect of..We wouldn't have that..or that' wouldn't be allowed.
He quickly changed his tune and Tanny stepped in.
Right there I was totally sold that Mangini was being played. No Question!!!

Favre was pathetic down the stretch, but that does not mean Mangini did not deserve to be fired. The defense also sucked the last 5 games. The pass D was a joke all season. His countless questionable moves, see the Seattle game as an example, his inability make second half adjustments, and being gutless are the reason he was fired. 6 freaking pro bowlers, 6 legit ones, and you do not make the playoffs.

No doubt Mangini made mistakes...But to be fired...NO WAY. It was all about Dollar$$$ & $$ense.....Woodys dollars & sense. Jets are almost back to square one....AGAIN !!!
    DISGUSTING.......

Mangini was considered a homegrown Jet.....though off the Bellichek tree....but a Jets coach that could be here for the next 8 - 10 years. This was a very bad move. I would rather see Tanny go, than Mangini.

6 Pro Bowlers and all that shit performance?

Mangini was the fall guy, plain and simple. I'm starting to care less about it. He's going to go on and probably be a damn good HC in this league. I don't doubt that for a second. But the more I think about this, the more I think the Jets have an idea of what they plan to do.

It was a dick move by the organization, but thats just the Jets being the Jets. They want to sell seats, and they're not going to sell seats with a no-name coach thats extremely unpopular with the fans. I'm more offended by how easily manipulated this fan base can be, and just how much the NY media gets away with right in front of people. But F my conspiracies in a sports forum...

A guy like Mangini deserves better. He got played by a machine, and hopefully he learned. Hopefully, he ends up in a real football town.

Somewhere along the line Run_N_Gun turned into Pidgeon.

But seriously - how could two white boys turn on each other like that?

Commentator: "Seneca Wallace has enough time back there to eat a sandwich"

Commentator: "Chad Pennington just has all day long to throw"

And what did Favre get in terms of protection? I think the Line could keep the pocket from collapsing for all of 1/16th of a second. If i was hurried like that the whole game and the defense was giving up all kinds of points and allowing the opposing QB to take a nap during a play if needed I would feel forced to make something happen and throw interceptions all day long too.
Did Favre make bad choices? Hell yeah he did. Was he forced into making something happen on alot of those? I think so. Because you know if we don't get any points on the board, the defense is just gonna let Hillis get a first down running on 2nd and 26.

Good valid points you make here....The defense was exposed for what it really is. PAts' really exposed Jets defense for the rest of the laeague in that game that the Jets pulled out. Jets were being continually attacked by crossing patterns & pass out in the flat. Jets' LB's aren't very good in pass coverage. Jets also signed Ty Law, insted of DeAngelo Hall....another huge mistake. Whether you want to admit it or can't see it...whatever;......What I say is true. Hall would have held down the CB spot across from Revis for the next 5 years....easy. No more CB worries for Jets.... No need to have to waste another 1st or 2nd round draft pick on a CB...like there gonna have to do or sign a F.A. ???

The part I want you to see is that the lack of Jets' offense {evident by Jets' decrease in "time of possession", in-turn caused defense to be on field more & overexposed defense. Also...how many points did defense actually give up ? How many of those points did Brett Favre give to the opposing teams & kill the Jets' team momentum & mo-jo ??? Address these issues to & then have a more open perspective on what & why it was happening.

Now addressing those pro bowlers.....Revis, Washington -who didn't get the ball enough, Mangold...doesn't carry ball?; Favre......lol; need I say more about him. Who else is going ? Jenkins...did the best he could...he was a 1 man army. Never a true back-up NT on roster ??? Pouha....lol, come again.....Pouha is better suited at DE. Mangini did a good job for a while, but after Pace got nicked up & teams started looking for him....no one else stood-up or was quick to be given a chance. Ex: Murrell, Clowney, etc.

And the stupid offensive play-calling from Shotty....every 3rd & short became a pass play. Why didn't Jets just run ball ??? Shotty....make him the asst. to the new OC & Sutton....just reassign him as asst. of the ass. of something...

The inability to sell the PSLs has gotta be irking Woody. He had no idea the economic storm that was coming when he planned this idiotic PSL idea.

No rational coach could want Favre back for any on the field performance, that's just insane. It's clear they want him back for the PSLs. Mangini, though I wanted him fired, was fired because he was the fall guy. Trying to hear Tannenbaum explain why he wanted to make a change was laughable. They couldn't pinpoint ONE thing about Mangini that led to his dismissal.

    This organization is hilarious.

Question is : Why were Jets throwing football so much? Why didn't Jets just run the ball more? Why on 3rd & short....Jets always went into shot-gun & threw the damn ball. WTF ??? Shoot Shotty.... & smack Mangini for letting him keep doing it .

And why did Jets go into the season with just 2 RB's on roster ? Unbelieveable !!!! And neither of the RB's is a top-flight RB. {Jacobs, peterson, Larry Johnson.??} Even Lamont Jordan looked very good. Now tell me, if Jets had Lamont Jordan, do Jets make playoffs ? My answer is yes .!!!

Mangini was good coach, he allowed to many loose ends that unfortunately went together with Favre's problems, and created a sudden downfall of the Jets, I think the management just didn't see to many more successes in him, it doesn't go that crazy man.\

Mangini ran the ball way to much at the beginning, and then called to many passes later on.

Mangini and Favre both deserve to go. keeping Favre doesn't make getting rid of Mangini the wrong decision, it simply means keeping Favre is. one doesn't change the other.

I totally think it was a mistake to fire Mangini with the info that has been revealed in the past couple days. The coordinators should have been fired and we should have continued with what we were doing.

    ...this....style of...writing...is really annoying...?

Also, I never got the impression that Mangini and Tannebnbaum were "old pals." What would have given you that idea?
