I completely agree with all of you. I think the Jets brass would be making a very big mistake allowing this opportunity to hire Cowher blow by. He's certainly going to be considered the best coaching option in the NFL this off-season, and I think he would be a great fit for the Jets....
If Cowher goes back to CBS because Woody wouldn't allow him to bring his own GM, then I just might realize the Jets will never do anything in my life-time...And I'm only 21.

Not I & there is a whole lot of NYJ history that goes into that statement. Starting with Kotex & going backwards & including Groh/Herm/Mangini also. Some caller just called in to WFAN with the same report. The WFAN host said that if that is true it is insanity on the NYJ part
Good, I'm glad we didn't let Cowher muscle his way into the organization. Cowher is no Tuna. He was a coach of a team that always had a very good roster assembled by one of the most respected GM's in the business, and his Conservativeness would drive us crazy. Look how much 'success' Holmgren has had without Ron Wolf. It's the same idea. Admit that you guys want him because he spits when he talks and has a funny chin. The same people who are excited about Cowher are the ones who enthusiastically bought Favre jerseys after we acquired him. Both are frauds. Tannenbaum has done a good job here and shouldn't lose his job because of this overrated jerk.
As far as i'm concerned....unless we hear it from Adam Schefter (probably the most reliable media source covering the NFL) or from Woody/Tanny's mouth....it's fodder.

I don't mind Cowher coming here but not if it forces Tannenbaum to lose his job. The only two guys in the NFL who deserve that kind of control are Parcells and Belichick. Nobody else, I repeat nobody else, should be given personnel power like that, especially if it comes at the expense of a competent GM's job.
