his last 5 games his passer rating was 60.9 vs denver -- 60.8 vs sf -- 61.4 vs buff
the last two games vs seattle and miami were worse

mangini didnt tell him to throw those ints
against miami his int returned 20 yards for a td was the difference in the game

he was terrible vs a terrible seattle team
he was terrible vs a poor sf team

the defense wasnt as stout as it had been all season vs the run but better play by farve should have won the sf and seattle game giving the jets an 11-5 record and possibly the division championship

mangini didnt put the jets in a position to win...when your team is skidding its on you to motivate and make adjustments...and eric didnt do that

Nothing wrong at all here. I will not be happy until I see the next headcoach come in here and show immediate objectivity and say Favre will not be the QB next year. Favre was just horrible for the remainder of the year after getting us to 8-3. I am objectively facing the facts. Favre's 40 next year and he wasn't that great this year; there is no magic panacea here; Favre must go.

    Favre should go

You know what this guy is a mercenary. He played like crap the second half of the season. He was ticked he wasn't given special treatment? Give me a break.

I never wanted him in the first place. Now with Mangina gone, it will be up to the new coach to keep Favre another year. I say, let's move on and play Ratliff and Clemens.

I'm sick of watching this "strong-armed" QB wildly underthrow his receivers on long routes. Since week 1, I don't remember one Favre completion downfield - I mean there were lots of completions downfield to the other team, but not any to any players wearing green.

Favre's arm was shot for most of the season...I think the reason he kept throwing off balanced off his wrong foot was to compensate for his dead arm. If you thought you saw some doozy INTs this season, wait and see what you're going to see next season, if the Jets are retarded enough to welcome him back for an encore to this tragedy.

    If Favre comes back...I'm Done

I sat in the Meadowlands yesterday and for the first time in my life as a Jet fan, which spans 44 years, I wanted the Jets to lose. I never rooted for the Jets to lose to improve draft position. Yesterday was a disaster. The Jets walked out of the locker room and onto the field not looking like a team battling for a playoff spot, but like a team on their way to the dentist. Then the game ---- Favre was horrible. The reason the Jets are not in the playoffs is because Mangini coached with no onions whatsoever on offense or defense and because Favre was horrible. His pre-game speech was pitiful.

As I sat there watching that game, I wanted Mangini fired and I wanted Favre to be embarrassed by the player he replaced after the way he stunk it up the last 5 games. I also did not want the Pats in the playoffs. Favre played one of the worst games a Jet QB has played in a big spot (think Testaverde against Baltimore in 2000 or Todd against Miami in 1983). Then he didn't even have the class to shake anyone's hand. He ran off the field faster than I have seen him run all year.

The bottom line is that Favre is a washed up, extremely selfish player. It is all about him. It's been that way for years. I never wanted him here and now I just want him gone. Nothing makes me more upset now than to hear Johnson and Tannenbaum say they want this egomanical has been back!! Why??? To what end??? The move to get Favre was one of the worst in Jet history. This season was a complete waste of a year because of him. We lost a winning QB to a division rival and lost a year of development for one of our young QBs. Yound QBs are successful all over the NFL (Ryan, Flacco, Cassel, Thigpen,) but we blew a year watching Favre turn what should have been a smash mouth team into a pass happy, pick happy mess.

What is there to look forward to if he comes back? Another year of 20+ interceptions? More shotguns on 3rd and 1? A year of underthrows? And what coach wants to waste his first year on a QB that he knows has no future with the team. Do you think Cowher wants to come here and deal with Favre and his enormous ego for a year and then spend his second year finding a QB?? Any new coach wants to find his QB for 2009 this offseason. So now we find ourselves in the same spot that the Packers were in a year ago.

If Favre comes back, next year is lost. I will sell my tickets because there will be nothing to look forward to. If you reign him in and become run first, what is the point of having him. And if you don't reign him in, the turnovers will kill you. I can honestly say that he is one of my least favorite Jets of all time. I didn't want him here and now that he has wrecked this team, I don't want him back. I have never ever felt this way about a Jet player and I hope I never do again. Go home Favre. Go back to Mississippi. I'll be glad to drive you.

Sell your tickets to real fans then. We all have ZERO control over what happens with this team, and as fans all you can do is hope for the best based on the players you have.

It's one thing to be indifferent, but wanting your team to lose is inexcusable as a fan.

Ok I get why people think Farve should go but if he does go who will be the QB ??? ..WHO do we get??? The 2 QB's we had behind Farve today CAN NOT be the QB next year so I say again WHO DO WE GET?

From another thread sombody was good enough to list the free agents at QB

    Kurt Warner, UFA, Arizona Cardinals
Matt Cassel, UFA, New England Patriots (It has been announced they will franchise him so no Shot for the Jets)
Jeff Garcia, UFA, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

When Baltimore went up 24-7, there was no hope for a playoff spot. It was better for the Jets to lose and get rid of the emotionless, gutless Mangini and turn the page. The only way that was going to happen was with a loss. The same goes for Favre. If anyone thinks this team can win with him at QB, they haven't watched the last 5 weeks. He and Mangini both needed to go and a loss was the only way to make that happen.

I've been a die hard fan for 44 years and I am as real as it gets. Winning that game yesterday would have set the franchise back years. I want a SB title and the best way to get that is to start over with a new CS and with a new QB. If you can't see that Favre is poison for the Jets right now, then you are dreaming.

He's been a fan for 44 years,i don't think you can say he's not a real fan. Most people will not really quit being a fan,we are all just really frustrated and wish we had some way to persoanlly let the team know what we think, feel and how we are sick and tired of watch bad moves on and off the field. After all, these fucks walk away every year with their millions, and we suffer.

I understand your feeling at the time, trust me. I said to myself that if we lose this game then Mangini would be fired and there would be a complete overhaul. That was the silver lining, but that's like saying "If my uncle died, at least I'd get an inheritance."
