    I'm interested...

    Are you buying your PSL?

I'm opting out of my 2 end zone seats in the lower section. I can barely afford them as it is, so I'm gonna hope to move into the PSL-free zone and take my chances. If I hate it I can always stop buying them.

How can I argue spending $20,000 on a crappy product? If I were a Giants season ticket holder, I would definitely feel different. I'd rather take $20,000 and turn my basement into a Jets shrine man-cave. Then I can route for the Jets in secret.

    How about you?

I'm done. I don't like being ripped off. Two teams building a stadium should've meant very reasonable PSLs. If I called my financial advisor and told him I need $20,000 for PSLs he'd probably hang up on me, come over, and slap me in the face for even talking about it.

The ticket price is a big deal to me as well - $140 a game is ridiculous, as is $125 to sit in the upper level in seats I have no transfer rights to. I just got a
65" HDTV with the Sunday Ticket to enjoy and I'll have some extra $$$ in my pocket.

I'm in the PSL-free zone, and if I wasn't, I'd move there anyway.

I'm sure you're aware of this, but prepare to move to a much worse seat location unless you've got many decades of seniority. Ticketholders like BADMOO and myself are "movin' on up."

My point is, many Upper Tier people think they're immune to the insanity and will retain their current seat location. I'm sure you're aware that this won't be so. No one escapes the PSL aftermath.

I'm done in my current location. I've been in my seats (4 of them) for decades now, since the Jets moved to the Meadowlands. But in my present spot, the PSL amounts to $7,500 per seat and the ticket price goes to like $750. That's for each seat... I have 4.

So, forget it. Isn't even close to consideration. Move over Upper Deck, I'm "movin' on up" to the East Side.

My tickets have over 20 years of seniority (they're older than me).

Good. You're in good shape then. You're one of the few Uppers I've run into that have a chance at staying somewhere near where your current seats are.

Most people don't realize that no one keeps their present seats. It's a complete reshuffling of the deck. You give them up and they go into a huge lottery. Only by extreme luck (and longevity) can one expect to be seated even remotely close to where they once were.

For me, it just doesn't pay. I've got grandchildren that I can help get through college. Like John 127 says, if you called up your financial advisor and told him you want to mail Woody a check for 30 Large, he'd probably laugh hysterically on the other end of the telephone.

I'm not sure if everyone know this, but in case some don't - Upper level seats (non PSL seats) carry no transfer rights whatsoever. They are yours alone and can never be transfered to another's name - not even your kids. I found that some who plan to move from lower to upper are unaware of this.

Just like Woody is laughing at the idiots who have no problem in coughing up the cash.

I had no idea they had no transfer rights... Thanks. Guess I'll just take my chances. Luckily the seats I own have been in my line since the Polo grounds so if I can end up on the 50 in the nose bleeds so be it!

I'm pretty sure I will be giving up my tix..I have decent upper decks now but with all the people in the lowers looking to move up to the no PSL zone I feel I'm going to get stuck with upper corners. If that ends up being the case I'm done.

Sorry folks, but I'm going for the $5K PSL. I like the idea of being able to transfer my seats to my son, and I like to be down low watching the game. I honestly don't think the amount is that big a deal, and it's not a bad investment.

My current seats are $10k PSL. I think its a great investment as well and like the idea of the seats being passed down for generations. If Jets fans don't get the PSL seats, it will all go to corps and we don't want that to happen. If you have the money, pay the 20% and pay it off over 5 years. Its tough going into debt, I'll be in huge debt after I graduate college. I'll have to pay off my student loans and I told my dad I'll help pay off the PSL.

    PSL's are a joke....not to mention a scam.

Not only do they charge you overpriced seats to a "game" but then they charge ridiculous PSL fees.

Well, it's not a scam. You're paying for something that has value, so it's not a scam. A scam is something that is fraudulent.

They get what they can get, and as long as individuals pay, they will sell.

    Not that it matters:

Aside from the New York Giants and the New York Jets, there are fourteen other NFL teams that have ventured into Personal Seat Licenses. Here are the price ranges for other NFL team PSLs.

    Baltimore Ravens: $750-8,000
    Carolina Panthers: $2,300-8,500
    Chicago Bears: $ 3,000-6,000
    Cincinnati Bengals: $300-1,500
    Cleveland Browns: $375-1,500
    Dallas Cowboys: $16,000-150,000
    Green Bay Packers : $600-1,400
    Houston Texans: $600-4,200
    Oakland Raiders: Abandoned in 2006
Philadelphia Eagles : $2,500-4,000 (sold out)
Pittsburgh Steelers : $250-2,700 (sold out)
    Seattle Seahawks : $2,000-3,000
    St. Louis Rams : $250-4,500
    Tennessee Titans: $250-1,500

I would never tell anyone how to spend, or not spend,. their money. Everyone has their own crap they deem "worth it". Having said that though, you'd be hard pressed to find anyone in the financial world who would tell you a $10,000 PSL is a good investment! If you're looking for a future return, there are much better ways to invest your money.

Oh, and thanks for posting those other teams PSLs. To think, those stadiums have only ONE team playing in their stadium and many of them have top PSLs which are reasonable, keeping fans in the seats. Amazing that they worked that out, huh?

How is it great to pass down generations? When the jets knock the stadium down in 40 years, your psl is worthless, it doesn't transfer to the next stadium...
