...that's why the coach was fired.

He also sounded pissed that Mangini was fired and said something like "I don't know what more (Woody and Tanny) expected from him."

I heard that, not the wildcat remark, which I find hard to believe.

Something else that occurred to me... what if they are pulling another Brett Favre? If Cowher or Parcells is already locked up on the hush and they're just showing Mangini the door a la Chad Pennington.

Well, I expected him to not make decisions like a pussy against Seattle. That was the end as far as I was concerned.

That would be kind of odd considering we have a version of the wildcat we play through Brad Smith and we used it fairly often.

they said during the game they watched the jets practice for the wildcat during the week so that can't be right

    You can't stop the Wildcat.
You can only hope to contain it.

It was pretty obvious that we weren't prepared for anything during the last five games.

KJ was quoted somewhere else (sorry no link--think it might have been Hutch) as saying he wouldn't say a bad thing about EM given all the responsibilities the HC has. Seems like KJ is a loyal guy to his coach. Thats good.

I'll bet that's the case. No way do they fire mangini so quick if there isn't something already in the works

Could someone who's a little more knowledgable about the X's and O's than me please explain to me why the Wildcat appears to be an indefensable formation? I mean it's basically a simple formation that colleges have been doing forever. Why is miami averaging rridiculous amounts of yards per play and points when running out of the Wildat? I would think a good defensive-minded coach could figure out a straightforward way to defend against it.

I would imagine it's got a lot to do with indecision amongst the defense, much in the same way a no-huddle offense works.

"No way do they fire mangini so quick if there isn't something already in the works"

Unless of course Woody had to do something real quick to try and save face (and PSL clients), especially after he heard the Jets fans rooting for the Fins yesterday.

The wildcat didn't really kill us that bad though, it could have on a few of those pass plays but we got lucky. I'm not sure I can believe this too strongly.

    Thought occurred to me, too.

Mangini deserved it, but this comes 2 days after the revelation that Parcells has an opt out, and the other day, Parcells was touting Mike Tice. Uh boy.

Not likely tho. Mangini was a Parcells guy...don't think even he'd do it. And with the Rooney Rule the Jets would get busted bad.
