    Let the hostage crisis begin!!!

PLEASE BRETT FAVRE DON'T HOLD US IN LIMBO, SH*T OR GET OFF THE POT!!!

Our whole coaching decision rests in the decision making process of MR. FLIP FLOP HIMSELF!!!

I wouldn't mind Westoff taking over. The guy is intimidating walking around with that cane. Anyone messes up they get better look out for the cane.

    Marty and Fassel no please.

Cowher and Billick I would be ok with but not thrilled.

If we go with spagnola or another up and coming coordinator I would be okay with that as well.

I don't think there is a coach out there that I would be thrilled to get.

I don't think Spagnola would take the job because why would he want to compete in the same town as the giants.

I don't think the only people who would want this job would be exhiled ex coaches or possibly a newcomer looking for a shot. A guy like Cowher who has his choice of job would probably take something else.

Marty Schottenheimer. We'd win the AFC East next year.

You are probably right. And then be winning the first playoff game at half time -- when "Bad Marty" shows up.

If Favre comes back, they will not go with a new young coach, they will have to settle for an old cast off.

No way Cowher comes here either way.

That would be extremely weird for me. I knew Mooch's son in HS, and if I knew he would end up being the Jets HC in 2009 I would have tried to stay in touch with him. Fuck.

I wonder where the hell this comes from, sometimes. Dude has the second best job in football today, worth more money than a good many NFL coaches today make, with full autonomy and plenty of perks, and someone actually thinks he'll LEAVE that to come coach the Jets? Riiiiiiiiiiiight.

. . . Not to mention, he's pals with Belichick. Imagine THAT phone call.

Imagining any person holding a conversation with Belly would be a bit awkward. But yeah, I'd be surprised if he gives it serious consideration.

Yeah right? That's exactly what I was thinking. "How the **** did he come up with Urban Meyer?" And honestly who would want him, I don't doubt his college coaching abilities but it doesn't seem like it would fit into the NFL. Pete Carroll on the other hand...

All of the other names mentions actually don't sound too bad.

Is Mangini available? I would bring him back without Favre.

Holy shit this can't be true. It's just such a rediculous idea, an owner would actually narrow his coaching choices, or base them off of, Brett Favre's preference? What? Are we talking about the same Brett Favre? The one that could retire any minute? The one that looked like a bag of smashed ass the second half of the season, the same guy that obviously should have called it quits a year ago?

    Wow...

If this is correct it's just crazy. If the Jets are basing their entire future on a 40 year old QB that played terribly down the stretch (not only starting him - but basing your HC on whether Favre "approves") I would be really pissed.

Well the advantage for a guy like Spagnola is that he wouldn't have to move his family - unless he wanted to get a larger house with all of his extra cash.

You know, as fantastarific as this sounds to a rival fan, it's just not possible.

I would believe that Mangini was fired because he was an inept coach, I would also believe that woody made an emotional decision based on his offseason investments and the end result, I would also believe that the decision was heavily swayed by public and media opinion. I can't, and wouldn't expect any of you guys to believe that the house was cleaned for Favre and the new regime will be hand picked by the same guy who was being laughed at by my Fins defense on Sunday.

If this team hires Fassel, fans will be in an uproar.

It seems with Woody...this is all about the mighty dollar. Therefore, he is going to try and make a splash (ie. Cowher, Holmgren etc).
