I don't think it is a factor at all. Cowher went through several QBs during his tenure with the Steelers.

what are you basing this on?...he had no problem coaching Ben Roethlisberger from the ground up. Great Coaches thrive on being challenged.....if there's no challenge for Cowher here, then i can see him not wanting the job.

It sounds like they want Favre back, so there is no way they will bring in a new coach and new system if he stays, odds are so does Shotty.

If he goes, we can get a younger guy who like the Giants OC to come in with a plan and groom a new QB.

The Jets won't make a move until they know what Farve is doing, and that could take forever, and change 13 times at any moment.

That was before he retired, he was already the coach.

If he comes out of retirement he is going to go to a more ready made team with the franchise QB in place.

That's my opinion, no way do I see him coming to a team that does not even know who their QB is.

I had to read this about 4 times to figure our your #2. We are already guaranteed HC, OC, and DC; maybe even QB.

I don't think that's a show stopper....most coaches like to have their own style of player on their roster...and prefer to draft one. Especially the QB position.

I would agree with you, if this team was in TOTAL DISARRAY...like the Lions....but the Jets are still in good shape talent wise.

essentially i was saying that sans Cowher, it would have been better to keep Mangini but can Sutton and Shotty and promote Callahan and hire Romeo. So since that option is now off the table, it's Cowher or I think we will be worse off.

they will interview Romeo - you have to interview a minority coach and romeo would fit as they might look to him as a DC also

they can interview any coordinator they want sine te league allows playoff coaches to interview during the playoffs so they get a fair shot at head coaching jobs

Sounds like they want Favre to stay, do you think Cowher would come here deal with that diva, and then start all over.

    I think not.

i think Favre respects Cowher more than Mangini...because a) Cowher is a winner and b) Cowher is older than Favre.

I hope the Jets interview Leslie Frazier (Vikes DC) over Crennel....Crennel is hot garbage...i can't understand how ANYBODY on this board would want this tub of "uselessness" as our head coach.....newsflash! CLEVELAND SUCKS!!

I think Cowher wants no part of this debacle.

    We shall see...

Again that was when he was already there, he did not come out of retirement to step into the musical QB game, now did he?

oh i don't want him as HC -- i was saying he fit as far as a minority interview....possibly useful as a DC
