    All,

Realistically, how long do you think it will take to name the successor? I don't theink they will hite a coordinator, so it's not like they need to wait till the end of the playoffs.

Hypothetically - how quickly can we get The Chin in here?

    Thanks

We can't do anything until Brett Favre makes up his mind, that could take 6 months and change 13 times!!!

Then he could say he is coming back and on the last day say, he changed his mind.

That self centered prick would leave us holding the bag in a heart beat!!!

I'm sure they already have someone in mind that they spoken to. I don't think they fire Manboobs so quick unless they already have a plan.

It is a good question. Obviously, since Cowher is not under football contract; he can interview and make a commitment without consequence. I think we will know if he is interested by the end of the week and that is about all I think is fair for now.

Tanny mentioned in the press conference that this will be a process and it will take some time.....which leads me to believe that they're gonna wait on some candidate that's still in the playoffs...or they're waiting for Parcell's to become available for a FO job....to help with the search.

    just my opinion.

ASAP. The longer we wait, the worse it's going to get.

You heard the press conference, they are going to search under every rock. There are alot of rocks in the world, it could take awhile.

Cowher is a longshot at best right now, doesn't sound like he wants to coach again next year.

Because if he comes back they will not hire a young guy with a new system!!!

If he stays, they will have to get an old cast off!!!

Guys like Cowher will not come here either way.

    Take it to the BANK!!!

Let's hope you're wrong....I'm hoping Cowher is sick of having Shannon Sharpe spit on him while he's talking on their CBS show.

I'd like to think this way too. From the press conference, it seems like they've been considering Mangini's fate for awhile now and it wasn't just a knee-jerk reaction from the last game. If that's the case, then surely they must already have a plan of action underway.

Not sure I truly understand, but I do not think they will let Brett Favre dictate what is going to happen next year. Let's face it, Favre did not play well at all, really.

    Why would he come here?

No way does he take over a team bringing up a new QB, and if Favre stays that would be the inevitable anyway.

I think the fact that Mangini was canned so swiftly makes me think initial inquires have been made with Cowher. I really think the best options are 1) Cowher 2) Mangini with all new coordinators (Romeo DC, and Callahan OC)…so if we don’t get Cowher, I think we will be worse off in the near term.
