Bringing in Farve was a huge mistake to start with, we'd be the AFC East Champs if we had Chad running the O this year.

When you're put in a position to fail, that's typically what happens.

No and if he retires the discussion will be moot. And just a few weeks ago visions of a Jets-Giants Super Bowl were dancing in people's heads.

Yeah it must of been the coaching that threw ball after ball up for grabs with no regard to where it was actually going. Favre was the worst QB in the league, blame the coaches for alot, not that though. That is all on Favre.

Draft a QB in the first. Sit him on the bench. Let Ratliff and Clemens battle it out to see who is the starter. If one of them turns out to be the real deal then trade the QB you drafted. If both arent the answer then give the kid you drafted a shot.

Leon Washington averaged 5.9 yards per carry this year.

He had a total of 79 carries.

    Was that Favre's fault?

Wasn't one of them already given a chance last year and performed like total junk? We need a real QB, not career back-up. Especially now, after we have given up Chad to Miami for nothing in return. We are in tough spot right now. We gave up what turned out to be the best QB we had in recent memory, who actually turned out to be one of the best in NFL given half decent offensive line. What we are left with is Farve, and our best chance is if Favre's poor performance was due to injury, and he will get healthy and comes back improved. Otherwise we need to look for a new QB, and it's an incredibly hard to task to get a good one. It's unlikely some other team will make an idiotic mistake Woody made by simply releasing a good QB outright.

What happens when a team abandons the run?

Teams tee off on the QB, drop back in coverage and force bad throws. It's not rocket science.

No Effin' Way!!!! NO to Favre. No more pairing down the playbook for an old dog that can't learn new tricks and makes horrendous decisions! HORRENDOUS!

I don't know. I think Favre will make that decision for the Jets anyway when he retires.

It's ironic transitioning him to a garbage playbook, what a waste

With the new coach taking over let him draft his QB and let him battle it out with Ratliff/Clemens in the Pre-Season. Then again i dont think a coach would mind grooming there QB behind Favre for a season.

Huh, how would that be Favre's fault? Being the worst QB in the league for the last 5 weeks however certainly is Favre's fault though.
