I personally don't think Favre would come back. This season has got to make him feel that playing is not fun anymore and it's not worth coming back. However, if we do let Ratliff, Clemens, Ainge, and a draft pick fight for the job I could see the Jets bringing Favre back out of desperation with the right offer if they are all ineffective or one or more of them goes down. I think we should try free agency or get someone via trade.

I'm not impressed with the list of free agents. I would be willing to bring in David Carr for cheap and let him compete.

If Favre makes a quick decision and goes through training camp with the team then I would want Favre back. I really don't want to see Clemens or Ratliff. Ratliff might have looked good in the Preseason against third string players but its the Preseason...
If Favre is gone then I don't know where the Jets would go. Clemens and Ratliff can not be our Franchise QB. I would trade up for Stafford or Bradford but I doubt they would do that.

I'd have to qualify it. I'd love to have a healthy Favre back next season. If that shoulder is bad, and it caused the fall off in his play the last month of the season, we'd be better off letting Clemens and Ratliff compete for the job.

I want Favre back next year. No question.

Give me an offensive coordinator that actually realizes we have what could be the most dangerous running back tandem in the game and let's see how many picks Favre throws.

No chance, he destroyed this team.

No, get the interception machine out of here already. Retire already.

Will he be better and more durable at 40 than at 39? I say no.

If the new coach wants him back than I want him back, if the coach doesn't want him back than we need to draft a franchise QB because no one on the roster fits that description.

Jets will get a pick at around 18 / 19 / 20 in next year's draft. Flacco was chosen at #18 last year. So we could get lucky with a QB pick there.

Currently ESPN has QB Matthew Stafford from Georgia at #7 and Mark Sanchez at #15. One of them could fall to us. Or maybe the Jets make a move up the board a few spots.

Of the teams ahead of the Jets, only Detroit, St. Louis, KC (?) and SF (?) could need a QB.

I wasn't found of the Jets getting Favre when the news broke that they were interested.

Then I thought better then another year of Chads dink and dunk when it looked like he would be the starter, so why not ?

And now I know WHY NOT? Time for him to retire, the "Favre Experiment" should be terminated immediately.

I favor the Jets having an open competition with Clemens/Ainge/Ratliff.

I like Ratliff at this point, but what the hell do I know .... he did show good pocket presence, a strong and accurate arm. Hopefully he survives the regime change.

I'd like to see Favre back. Favre was not the problem. It was the unimaginitive and stale offense to go with a defense that couldn't or wouldn't adjust over the last 5 weeks, that killed the season.

Stafford will be the top pick in the draft, I'm disappointed that McCoy is going back to school. He could have been a great pick at that spot, I'm unsure about Sanchez.

Are you kidding me? 2 TDs and 9 INTs the last 5 games. He was the worst QB in the league those last 5 games. Coaching was terrible, Favre was worse.

    Goodby...goodby...goodby (get the idea)

There are about 5/6 college QB's out there that will make it in the NFL. Wait till after the bowl games are over and watch them carefully.

I hope Favre has really injured shoulder. If he played like he did without a major injury, we are in huge trouble. On the other hand, if he does have injury, we also have no one at QB. Either way, we are screwed.

I'd like to see him back but I'd like Ratliff and Clemens to be given a chance to compete for the starting spot. Ratliff really showed something last season, hopefully he hasn't been ruined like our coaching staff did with Clemens.

Saying that, if he does retire I'm happy with the 3 young QBs we've got being given a chance.
